Hill to Fremantle. Ballantyne to West Coast. Mackenzie and a second rounder to Hawthorn.

Reality is Mackenzie, 28, wasn't a best 22 player in a side that finished 7th and has barely played at AFL level in two seasons. Brad Hill is a 23 year old triple premiership player. As such, a pick in the 30s would be needed to sweeten this deal.

Fremantle probably are paying under in giving up a 29 year Ballantyne who wants to walk...
so who is supplying the lube to west coast

Well that sounds like the typical safe vanilla type trade the Eagles would enter into.:(

So much for fixing the deficiencies in the list lets trade in a couple of depth players for insurance.:mad:
It's not as bad as it sounds if its for real. 2 depth players in areas we need more depth and it frees up our salary cap.

We need to use Emac to either upgrade our second pick into the teens or get another first rounder outright (either this year or next).

I would rather we rookied a ruckman from the VFL than waste Emac's value on a couple of spuds.

Lol

McKenzie and a 2nd round for Ballantyne?
Freo get Hill for Ballantyne?

You didn't think that through did you?

So where do you value Mackenzie? What's his value in a draft pick? Try and factor in his 600k contract also that a club would not to honour.

For a team in the premiership race I would put Ballantyne around the 28 - 35 mark. For a team where mid size forwards include Hill, Lecras and Cripps they may value him even higher...

Reality is Mackenzie has barely played AFL the past two seasons, wasn't in the best 22 of a team that finished 7th and has a contract around 600k per season...

Reality is he is an All-Australian, Fairest and Best, Key position defender who is 28 not 32, and hasnt played in 2 years and just needs a full preseason..
From my understanding you picked up Brian Lake at 30!! for a 2nd round upgrade and 41.
Knee's have hardly been career enders lately, i see nothing that diminishes his value below a 2nd rounder up to late first if a clubs desperate...

Barely played the last 2 years and cant find a way in to a team that was struggling to find tall defenders. Doesnt bode well for McKenzie.
Struggling to find tall defenders?

McGovern and Barrass as KPD with Schoefield taking the 3rd tall? Thats one of the better backlines in terms of talls in the AFL.

Mitch Brown isn't bad depth as a KPD either.

Was very ordinary back in the WAFL too..

And yet some West Coast fans are calling for a late 1st round pick..

Joel Patful-pick 21
Levi Greenwood-pick 25
Shaun Hampson-pick 32
Jake Melksham-pick 25
Jack Redden-pick 17

Do any one of them have a better resume than Mackenzie?
Any of your own clubs/players and this same argument would be coming from you..
