What do you do to forget about the world?

I sometimes have massive TV show marathons...5+ hours in a row of a show like Breaking Bad and I find myself immersed in another world.

Or I just get blackout drunk.

Either way its a good way to forget about the bleak eat/work/study/sleep cycle of daily life.

My supplier of escapism lost his driver's license some time ago which means his home delivery service is reliant on mates, and thus unreliable. This leaves us with bottom of tin scrapings and Carlton v Geelong for escapism for the evening.

Video Games are a good escape for me.. A little too good in dark times if my 250 days+ of time played in WoW is anything to go by :(

Play sport and exercise. Helps me focus on something else and makes me feel like I am improving myself if there is things going on that could negatively impacting my life.

250? Pfft, lightweight :D
I started just as Black Temple came out and stopped for a fair chunk at ICC and then chunks between expansions, still got like 10 toons to 85 or above... Adding up the play time kinda hurt as it was to be honest, and that 250 was before mists... So probably broke the 300 but I really didn't want to know if I spent a literal year of my life on that game.

Still being able to escape from the real world and be whoever or whatever the hell you want can be as close to happiness and freedom as you can get at times, so while part of me cringes at that fact another part of me knows it and well other games still help me through dark times. Really why I don't understand why some people are so anti-video games. Realistically violent games was about the only thing that stopped me smacking the living shit out of people back in high school, RPGs probably save my sanity. If i didn't escape into video games I'd probably either have been another statistic or a raging alcoholic by now...

Music is probably my biggest. But, that can also have the opposite effect of making you think about shit. Footy training, as well as playing are probably two other massive ones. Never have time to think, especially when you're out playing. Apart from that, work and Uni do the job. Too busy and have to focus to hard, especially with work to think about reality outside work/Uni.

Music here too.

But I am quite jealous of those who are going to die one day having spent seven years of their life playing Call of Duty.

Can add football to the list for me, everytime I'm at the footy I just get so absorbed into the game. Don't know what I'd do without sport to be honest.
