ESPN TO PRESENT PARDON THE INTERRUPTION AUSTRALIA
Australian edition of popular U.S. Program to Debut Tuesday July 6 at 5.30pm
On Tuesday, July 6, ESPN will debut Pardon the Interruption Australia, a local edition of the innovative and critically acclaimed sports-talk program that has been a hit with television audiences in the U.S.
Fast-paced, humorous, and always provocative, PTI AUSTRALIA will be a must watch Television Sports show featuring two leading Australian personalities who will “face off” and debate the week’s hottest sports topics and headline issues. The 30-minute national program will have a lively format that will offer in-studio and out-of-studio segments, such as the “Five Good Minutes” guest interviews and “Mail Time,” which will give viewers an opportunity to ask questions and voice opinions.
“We’re excited to produce an Australian version of Pardon the Interruption for Australian sports fans,” said Bernard Stewart, vice president and general manager of Asia-Pacific, ESPN. “The show is based on a speedy, thought-provoking format that engages viewers and draws them into a spirited debate of sport. PTI Australia will be unpredictable, topical, and full of opinion.”
A search is currently underway for the show’s hosts. Pardon The Interruption Australia will be produced in association with the award winning Australian production company CRACKERJACK. ESPN and Crackerjack previously worked together to launch shows such as A Question of Sport, The Great Footy Debate and ESPN’s Legends of Cricket.
2004 marks ESPN’s 25th anniversary as a global sports company and ESPN are proud to announce the launch of PTI Australia as part of these celebrations.
The U.S. edition of Pardon the Interruption will continue to air several times per week on ESPN, including 5.30pm Wednesday to Saturday.
