I don't normally weigh into the slagging of umpires but I felt they made two really bad errors at quite crucial times in that last quarter. Firstly, they paid a mark to Allan when he clearly dropped it and that was about 25m out from the Dees goal, should have been 'play on'. The other one was to pluck a free kick to Solomon for a fine piece of acting when the umpire had already blown the whistle for a bounce. They were really sh1tful decisions and didn't help the Dees cause whatsoever.

Agreed, whenever there is a physical confrontation, the umpire's first thought is to find a free kick so they quite often pay something that isn't there. It is poor direction from the umpires boss and coach and the afl that has led to this, I hope they change their attitude next season. Was a great game to watch none the less.

As for the umpiring, what an absolute disgrace.Was it Kennedy who made those poor decisions, as he has a history of pulling stuff out of his bum for Essendon.

I feel for you Demon supporters.We had a match plucked from us in a bad umpiring decision earlier this year, and its not a nice feeling.

Two shocking umpiring decisions - mark to Allen and free to Solomon. However, I don't think either of them really made any difference to the result.

With Allen's 'mark' when he went to ground he could easily have fed the ball out to Fletcher who was free, while after the Solomon dive Melbourne were able to regain possession in pretty much the same spot within 30 seconds.

The match wasnt plucked from them by the umpires. Melbourne had the ball again very shortly after the Solomon act and Fletcher was about to pick the ball up after the Allen non mark. Read from Melbourne nailed a goal shortly after a dodgy umpiring decision in the last quarter so it was not all one way as people always seem to make it.

was at the game today, essendon very lucky to win indeed. frees went ********house both ways. lloyd nearly the laziest footballer ive seen, no defensive work wat so ever, hird was ********ing a superstar today, n Yze played better than wat i thought, was surprisingly to fast for all of bombers defenders plus the johnsons, still cant kick over 35 meters tho. white.. nice mark in the last altho allans that was paid was just the same melbourne shouldve won by 3 goals, essendon to lose by a big margin next week. norwich rising star is very much a star indeed, ********ing great player to come.
