Just like players are only guns or spuds, never serviceable, solid back-up, or "good but not great" AFL level players (who make up the vast bulk of any team on any given week).

2011 Port Adelaide home ground attendances: 3rd lowest - in front the newly formed Gold Coast (bottom) and checks notes Brisbane.
Port Adelaide finished checks notes second bottom.
Wasn't even the worst side that year.
2013 Melbourne Demons were well worse and coming off a shocking 2012.

West Coast have won 13 out of 99 games since the start of 2022, so as bad as Essendon have been since 2005, they've never plumbed the depths of this current incarnation of West Coast.
Andrew McQualter has a worse win percentage as coach of West Coast than Mark Neeld did as coach of Melbourne, which is kind of surprising as I remember Melbourne under Neeld being incapable of beating an egg.
