Draft picks
Normally eDPS would be running the show but he's a little time poorer this year so I've offered to do this for him. Ideally we'd have 18 people sign up but if we don't get that by Friday, one or two might have to double up.

Rules:

1. Pick trading is allowed, but the points difference have to be within 200 points per the AFL rules or include future picks.
2. You have 8 hours between 8 am and 10 PM AEDT to make your pick. Otherwise you get the next player on eDPS rankings
3. Bids can be made and matched.

GWS take Mac Andrew.

I dont mind him and would be happy to reach for hm. A good ruckman is hard to find, especially one with this guys traits. Bulk him up in the twos for a few years and see what happens.

Would have liked Gibcus but he went early.

I think theres no point in selecting another midfield that will have to bide his time in the twos and then ask for a trade in two years.

eth-dog you're up

Ben Hobbs
Pick 12: Ben Hobbs (183 cm/80 kg, Inside Midfielder, Greater Western Victoria Rebels).

Hobbs is probably the best "pure" inside midfielder of this draft, and I figured he would go earlier than this so I'm stoked to pick him here. An inside mid who bounces off tacklesand extracts the ball, he'll be a great addition to Angus Brayshaw and Caleb Serong in the middle.

Others considered: Matthew Johnson, Josh Ward

Josh Goater
Essendon - 13 - Josh Goater

Very close 4 way toss up for me but I’ve gone Goater in the end. Not without risk but another nice size, athletic kid who could easily develop into Jack Crisp, the forward version of Nat Fyfe or anything in between. Can take a grab and is a nice mover in traffic, could offer a great compliment in the middle, up forward with his marking and ground ball winning or his run from behind in defence.

Josh Ward
Brisbane - 16 - Josh Ward

The luxury of best available. Can run like the clappers and use it, which are universal attributes but given the ball winners and big bodies Brisbane have he probably starts on a wing or flank, potentially in the VFL if they want to use him on ball a more.

Truth be told if I was going absolute best available I’d have taken him for Essendon, he’s a more refined and ready to go prospect than Goater and even though Goater has massive potential due to his size and speed I definitely wouldn’t be mad if we took him.

I was thinking after Richmond didn't take him that he'd pretty much be the steal of this draft.

Pick 21 for Fremantle still on the table. Have a couple of players I like the look of that probably go middle of the second round, and looking to trade back into next year's draft.

I'd need to see who's left at 21 to burn a 2nd on 8 spot upgrade
That's fair. I'm likely to place a bid on there anyway. That's the sort of price it would probably go for in the draft anyway.

Tyler Sonsie
Pick 19: Tyler Sonsie

So I was very sure that Jacob van Rooyen would be around and as such I'd take him to cover a small key forward issue. With that gone I had to think about whether to reach for Bazzo as a key defender, or take a midfielder here. I figured that there are some other key defenders that were going to be around my next couple of picks so I went for the best player and midfielder available here in Sonsie, someone who can play inside or outside to good effect and can have an immediate impact.

Others considered: Campbell Chesser, Rhett Bazzo
