As part of a BigFooty wide initiative, we are seeking feedback from you all about the Bombers Board. What works, what doesn't, how we moderators are doing and what we can do to make it better.

Vote in the poll, but take some time to give us your thoughts. This thread will remain open for seven days and we will respond seven days after its closure. The only moderator intervention will be to remove offensive material.

And the only rider is, please don't target other posters in here. If you have specific concerns about a poster, PM the mods and we'll talk there. We want this to be a constructive, mutually beneficial exercise and we look forward to going through this and looking at how we can improve based on the feedback we receive.

I'm a little tight for time, so I'll just do a list but will expand on it later:

Pros
- Good coverage; reported posts and trolls are dealt with really quickly
- The ASADA threads being kept insular is awesome
- Friendly mods; no grumps like in past eras


Cons
- Some player thread titles can be left for a while, so it'll relate to a game from a few weeks ago
- Not enough Monopoly chat in general

Like the way that the board is not confined to footy.

I've found the mod interaction is really good and have found it that way since I joined.

We are one of the few boards that welcome posters from other boards to join in our threads other than our ASADA thread of course. However I've liked that other posters who have added something to the ASADA thread have not been banned.

To be fair I think the mods do a good job at having a balance between giving the people what they want (to froth over a club they supposedly don't care about) and keeping things within reason.

Just the player thread titles: If there's no important update for a few weeks on player X I think it's perfectly fine to remove the 'kicked 4 goals last week' tag completely.

Normally don't comment in these threads as don't give a shit. However, the standard of the board has been ok this year. Kudos to the mods. Much better than shit mods like Kong

I think our mod team is the strongest on the site to be honest. They probably had to be to deal with the ASADA shite. Turnover has been a little disappointing but I get the strain.

Pros:

- The mods are freakin ninjas. Trolls are vaporised in such a quick fashion I barely have time to laugh at them.
- Love the player thread formats (with one complaint see below).
- Some very good natured people running the boards that happily deal with 'windsock' moments.
- Tanked is supported and encouraged, as it should be.
- The Lord, free of his modly powers is so freakin witty it almost shits me.

Cons:

- The Lord is wittier than me.
- The player threads can often have scary titles when bumped, I'd suggest no titles.

Folks- since I started this thread at 9:09am last Wednesday, the seven day period we allocated for feedback is almost over- only twelve hours to go. It will be shut by about 10am tomorrow, I would say.

So if you haven't provided feedback and would like to, here's your chance.

I won't say speak now or forever hold your piece, because that's not true- but it would certainly be very useful if as much as feedback as possible is received in this thread.

I haven't really followed this too much* (see my next post), but how do we know that he was responsible for the media speculation?

But this board and the way they carried on about this stuff, the Carlisle rumour, even the ASADA stuff.

FFS we were about to play in a massive final which is what we all want to see, and yet there was almost no in-depth discussion about the actual game.

Even the Preview thread was filled with "lol norf" nonsense and all sorts of other crap.

This was probably the first time in a long time that I thought about leaving this site altogether.

I didn't realise other teams were playing in finals.. I thought it was just Richmond. So I have an excuse.

Perhaps there wasn't a lot of preview stuff, because most of us knew what to expect. 1 quarter of brilliance, 1 quarter of above average, 1 quarter average and 1 quarter of pure shite. We knew that we would miss Carlisle.. we knew that Steinberg would be destroyed. We knew that we would be 'blown away' at some point and either fight our way back only to lose OR give up our lead in 10 minutes of sheer madness.

Or perhaps people just like gossip far more than structural analysis.

However I'm sorry if you aren't enjoying the board.. your voice is very respected and needed around these parts..
