Carlton select Sam Walsh.

Rationale: Screams Darcy Parish to me, even though he's probably a fraction ahead of him. Smart, high character Victorian kid who will come in and offer immediate impact and will produce consistently for 15 years. Similarly to Darcy I suspect he'll really pop when he's 22 or 23 when he's built big enough to mix it with the big boys and by that time hopefully he's get 50 or 60 games in the tank and Carlton are competitive.

Gold Coast selects:

Pick 2: Jack Lukosius

You just have to pick what looks like a generational forward in a team that just lost Lynch, the trick will be making sure he stays.

Pick 3: Izak Rankine

Another SA boy to keep Lukosius share the intersate experience with and hopefully form chemistry up forward.

boncer34 I accept your trade

foj1 Saints are on the clock

foj1 should totally be asking for Red Black and Blue picks 8 and 16.
Mainly for the dramatic screwing over of port

Not for mine, Lukosius the only one worth trading up for and I think Adelaide are overdue for an influx of quality youth.

Pick 7 - Bulldogs take Bailey Smith, Midfielder, 185cm, 82kg

Best available and also fills a need to help out the Doggies around the middle as a big powerful unit ready to go straight up. Dominates on the inside, bursts from stoppages and can find it on the outside and kick goals as well (also doesn't mind a tackle). Completely well-rounded modern day midfielder but can also play across the back flank or even up forward for rotations. Should slot in well next to Macrae (24 y/o) and Bont (22 y/o) for many years to come providing them with some much needed back up.

Considered Rozee here but also had assumed Smith would already be taken so was more than happy to snap him up.

GWS select Nick Blakey

Tall utility with oodles of talent. Unsure why sydney dont match but we will have him ;P

Talented player that can take time to develop first and being in the Swans academy hopefully the go home factor isnt... well, a factor

quotemokc

He went at pick 4
