Bio: Brad is a Gold Coast academy player but they may not match an early bid to not go into points deficit but either way he is a quality player and should play senior footy early. He is a contested midfielder who can go forward.

With pick 37 GWS take Taylin Duman
Once again this pick would have been spent on an academy player (this time Harrison McCreadie).
But with the options available and GWS's wealth of talent I went with abit of a jack of all trades player who could fill a number of holes on the team in the future.
Dumin is tall but wafer thin, he is far more effective running the ball out on the wings. He could be trialed as a third tall in defense who can help push the pace from the backline.

I've got a minute, so I'll explain thems decisions I's been going dun makin'.
I saw Port having a few needs, mostly being another KPF, a bit more help in the inside department (they averaged a lot of contested ball last year, but were somehow conceding more on average), and some clean kicking skills on the outside.
Pick 14 - Daniel Venables
I thought of him as the ideal combo of best available and having the highest ceiling. Port having 4 picks in the first 31 gave me some extra confidence to go with him, since his injuries have made it harder to gauge his form, or whether he'll definitely be able to play a full-time midfield role. But when he has been able to play, he's shown he's a unique player, because he's incredibly strong over the ball and has a bit of pace, yet also has good skills, particularly by foot. Certainly not a sure thing, but if you can get him over his injury concerns and move into the midfield for the majority of his matches, he'll be a gun.
Pick 17 - Todd Marshall
While he didn't end up having the best year, I still view him as the best genuine key forward in this draft, even if there's still a few questionmarks over him. Everyone has made a lot of the fact that he only recently switched to football after spending most of his teenage years focusing on cricket. But it's true. He could develop very quickly if Port are up to making it happen. At the moment his avenue to goal is pretty one dimensional. Unlike Pat Kerr, he's a run and jump off just a few steps type forward, who relies on his height and strong hands (not arms, he's still one of the rakes that sideshow Bob copped to the face) to generate scoring shots. If he can lead harder and more often (Which is probably down in part to fitness, which he struggled with in the last third of the season) he'll become a lot more of a handful, and he'll be able to involve himself more. As others have already mentioned, his skills below his knees are sensational for a guy his height, and he's a good set shot.
Pick 30 - Cedric Cox
Port struggled quite a bit last year with the amount of unforced turnovers they were committing, so I was hoping to find a bit of class on the outside to help them out on this front. Cox is quick, has superb skills by foot and attacks the game, so he should fit perfectly into Port's setup. I'd be hopeful that he could eventually play on a wing, or that one of Bryne-Jones or Pittard could.

I've thought for a while that he's underrated, possibly because he wasn't given much time in the middle for Vic Country for whatever reason. At 188cm he'll give port a bit of a point of difference in their midfield, and he's a tough inside midfielder with an okay bit of pace and strong hands overhead. I personally think his kicking is also underrated -- not sensational by any means -- but I think he hits enough targets and doesn't try to bite off more than he can chew.
Marshall obviously fills the KPF need, Venables and Drew will ideally help in the inside department, while Cox and (I think) Venables will help in the field kicking department. Maybe I should've gone harder at the outside department, but I think this class is generally better for inside types, so I figured I'd go with an extra guy who I thought would ultimately be the better player.
I'd of loved to have gotten Simpkin with pick 14, and I would've considered a tall defender at either of 30 or 31, but with Brennan Cox gone, I was a little less interested. A later pick would have to go to finding someone who can play in the ruck, since I still think Port are one short in this area.
