Whats with not including big Mal Michael, he's an absolute star!!!!

Winderlich is there because he can run of Half back easily with his speed.

This is my Essendon dream team for 08 i think if some of the older players in this list can step up and lead the youngsters Essendon will be a team to be reckoned with. Mcveigh will step up to be the leader in our midfield he seems to have alot of passion (speech at B&F). Pace will no longer be a problem if Lovett, Winders, dempsey and Davey can all keep their places in the team. I kept MJ in the team cause i think he can still be an asset to us as a goalsneak and not try to make him keep up with someone in defence (old legs). I also hope that Neagle will be groomed in years to come to take over lloyd and danniher for FB so we have our KP's filled for years to come (gumbleton CHF and Ryder CHB). With skill work done over the break and fitness work this could be a successful list for years to come.
Hopefully we can get one of Rance, Dulic or maybe Pears all big defenders and hopefully masten or another quick midfielder

Was posted before he was delisted and i did forget nash was gonna amend it but couldn't be bothered. In regards to Danniher he doesn't deserve yet but we need to blood key defenders and fast because by the time our midfield is competetive our backline will be undermanned

its the 2008 dream team, and in 2008 our midfield will be much worse than our fairly competent backline, thats why we'll be picking a mid in our 1st round

I have to say that with a full squad, it's actually quite hard to pick a team. Shows we've got some depth next year.

its is 2008 dream team but who says i cant dream about the future and the most of the class in the first round draft picks are all mids with the exception of Rance

Funny, when you look at all these sides, our B and C graders just have these stand out problems as individuals which kills us

Watson - Speed and footy skill
Welsh - general football ability
Mcphee - skill level,
Nash, Speed, skill
Slattery - Speed, skills, ability to win ball.
Lovett accountability, inconsistency, concentration
Stanton - Skill, hardness
Winderlich - concentration / consistency
Monfries - speed / consistency / strength
Peveril - Speek / skill / right foot.
J.Johnson - Fitness / speed.

Whilst each of these have some areas of brilliance eg Watson - clearance work / hands, Nash ability to read the play etc, we are severely let down by the deficiencies in these individuals games.

Bottom line is we have very few complete players outside our best 4.

So, these defficiencies either need to be dramatically improved on, or, we need to give these guys much less game time and play the likes of Dempsey, Jetta, Houli, Hislop, Reimers, much more.

i should have tried harder to squeeze rama and welsh in there, but key factor for this team is speed. And want to get more games into kids from last years draft etc. **Hislop backline while developing endurance. **Monfries spending more time in middle- conditional on big preseason.

B midfield Hille, McVeigh, Dempsey, Hislop/Houli/Jetta
