He joined Essendon as a match writer in about 1984.
He used to take notes of what Robert Shaw (Reserves coach) said during a quarter and then Shawy would go over them before addressing the team at breaks.
This was successful so they got him to do it in the seniors as well.
To offer him a full time job at the club they put him in the recruiting dept.

Damn. I was actually guessing just to get some finals in.

Misleading. North typically opt for less around the ball due to Cunnington's strengths and go with a spare defender. Head to head Essendon get swatted in the contested game.

Heppell is a c-grader that just happens to have cool hair. Kind of like how everyone overrates Gawn because of the beard, Daisy when he had longer hair, and Maric because he had a mullet.
