Yet everyone who actually follows the draft kids has said that the draft this year will be just fine. There isnt 10 x Judds but there will be a couple of standouts and a heap of very good players.

The problem will be the next couple of years when Tasmania gets all the extra picks.

Essendon getting 4 very good players will help their list enormously.
Most experts who follow the draft are saying it will be one of the weakest in the last decade severely lacking in quality , which is why you will see more player trades clubs are actually looking to get out of the first round

Really do feel bad for my bomber mates.

Showing a bit of promise with Rutten? time to **** shit up!

Club has a tough season and needs all hands on deck? Nah, time for another coup attempt!

This used to be a powerhouse Club. Now they have undead powerbrokers who cant manage to get their broken idol back on the altar but dont see the harm in trying.

Is this Sheedys third go at getting Hird back? Please let it be the last.

Imagine if they had given Knights another couple of years and never gave Hird the job...

Thank god he not chief football writer anymore right now he would be publishing articles everyday of why Hird needs to come back
And let's cross live to the Haileybury College Oval, where Nine's resident footy expert and Essendon legend Matthew Lloyd will pontificate vaguely about 'the need for change at Essendon' for the next 10 minutes without directly mentioning his former teammate James Hird.

...

And you can catch the rest of Lloyd's monologue on Footy Classified and again on the Sunday Footy Show.

Imagine if the club listened to Hardwick instead of opting to what they wanted to hear from Knights
I have exclusive footage of his presentation to the Bombers board during his interview

This is where I'm at and it just makes my Bomber mates feel worse that they get sympathy from a Pies supporters.

Lloydy has superb public speaking skills.

Comparable with Lincoln, Churchill, Hawke , Keating and John Kennedy Snr.

My Bomber mates are a more or less humble lot. I know this isn't the stereotype but in my experience even in the glory years 84/85 they were dubious of their success.

I think its a few vocal fan boys from the 2000 era that give them a bad name.

"Winning? I can take it or leave it, but i don't like losing" was on blokes stated philosophy.

They loved Hird the player but those who welcomed him as a coach have been burned and have lost faith in the board.

Hawks are often smug. Pies are often primal (or feral if you like) in our joy in winning and our sadness in defeat, but the Bombers like Geelong seem suspicious of success, and they really don't like losing.

I think the fear of failure has made the Bombers leaders lose all direction. If Hird is the answer, what is rge bloody question?

It's interesting watching James Hird on television asked questions about the issues surrounding his old club.
He squirms in the chair every time remembering he was largely responsible for beginning their downward spiral into utter turmoil in the first place.
Does he really? That would show a level of self awareness i doubted he has.
