Collingwood fans boo Sheed, Ablett, Riewoldt, have multiple racist incidents over the year, start fights at games more than any other set of fans and are well known for anti-social, bogan behaviour. Now they can’t handle fans booing umpires? They’d be the first to boo if the situation was the other way around. They’d probably start getting violent too.

The funniest and most idiotic part of the whole booing thing, is that it's assumed everyone is booing for the same reason.

And even better still, is when someone assumed to know exactly what the reason is.

Reality is, 90% of people boo just cause they hear booing.

I think this thread has just about run it's course.

Media comment by Buckley and McGuire pretty much says it all.

In his post-match press conference, Buckley said he hoped he would’ve done the same thing if it wasn’t his player copping the boos.
My comment speaks for itself,” he said.
I hope that I would’ve been strong enough if say an Essendon player had won the medal in the exact same moment, and the Collingwood faithful had responded that way, I hope I would’ve been strong enough to say the same thing. And I think I would’ve. I don’t like it, but that’s just my opinion.
“I don’t think it really warrants further questioning or talking about because it just makes it a greater focal point.”

Collingwood president Eddie McGuire told Fox Footy post-game he didn’t think the booing was targeted at Pendlebury, but instead the umpiring.
The Essendon fans are sensational. Let’s assume it was pantomime,” he said.
But we have to get past booing. Let’s get it out of the game. The Bombers fans were so pent up they would have booed anything. But let’s get it out of the game.”

The booing was terrible. More calls went against the bombers than Collingwood. But the most damaging one was the goal Essendon kicked
For a hold on Langdon.

The key thing people think umpires change the result. Sheil burnt the ball consistently which cost them more.

Umpires don’t tend to change results. Players do.
Quit talking sense. We’re here to discuss how Essendon were ROBBED and the booing of of a champion meant NOTHING because, because, because Collingwood did it first and worst!

See thats the thing.
‘Its a game of football.. fans will act like they do at any other game of football’
I have a question - would you excuse a football fan ‘just acting like any other game’ and yelling out during the minute silence? Doubt it.
Its a different day. One of respect. If you cannot see that, you are un-australian.
the minutes silence is held at other games, not just the ANZAC day game. Once it's over it's back to the footy

In all honesty... I think it has been said before, but if anyone is to blame for the loss it is definitely not the umpires, or pendlebury.
Have a good hard look at Dylan Shiel and his Under 12 level footskills.
Maybe you should’ve booed him off the ground?
That wouldn’t be something we haven’t seen from your mob after all would it ..

the history behind ANZAC day v the Norm Smith.
It is astounding to me how no one sees the difference.
Don't pretend winning an ANZAC medal has any part in respecting the veterans. It's a medal for a best on ground footy player, it's not going to be pinned on a jacket for a march.

Close match, emotions at fever pitch, result in the balance, some very dodgy decisions,of course you're going to get a reaction. How many pie fans on here sooking about it, actually went ?
Collingwood fans aren’t sooking, champ. We don’t have to because, you know, we won. Unlike you. Who lost.

You’ve got absolutely Zero idea about what this game, on this day means then.
No, I know exactly what this day means and guess what *******, it had just as big a meaning before footy was played on it.

FFS, this is a football game. Don't put it anywhere near the level of respect we should be giving the veterans.
