Can really only afford one more loss if they are going to make.
Require a win against the Dogs as an 8pt game.

probably also need some results to go our way.
Dees & Eagles to drop a few. Saints to lose a few.

Best result now is 5th if everything falls our way (which it won't)
even an upset against adelaide and winning every game from here on in is unlikely to see that improve.

reckon we're a chance to finish 10th on the back of losses to the Dogs and Crows.

I hope they make it because I find them far better to watch than St Kilda and West Coast. As some will have noticed I'm really big on the list Essendon is building, it will take them a long way in 2019 onward.
They probably will make the 8 but go out in straight sets! It's been more so a promising year as the past dramas are hopefully over & a few really talented kids on the list & Worstfold is really developing the team

Need to win 4 matches and not got belted in the others and will make it, right now they definitely start favs in 4 games, 50/50 against the Dogs and not hopeless against the crows at Etihad either.

problem is we are more likely to drop points to North, smash the dogs, lose against Carlton, upset Adelaide, then wilt in the QLD sun against GCS, then beat the Dockers to fall short.
its what we do.

There's two spots up for the grabs in the top 8 and for me, they are between Melbourne, WC, St Kilda and Essendon. By the time the H&A season finishes, its going to be pretty tight between thess 4 teams with percentage perhaps being the difference between a team making finals or missing. Despite Essendon being behind all of these teams on the ladder currently, I believe they will make the 8 due to a good fixture and having the highest percentage between these 4 teams. I think they will win at least 4 out of the last 6 games bringing them to 12 wins for the year but they will at least make the finals because I think they will maintain their superior percentage to any other team who happens to be on the same amount of wins as Essendon. For me, WC and Essendon both make the finals from here, with Melbourne and St Kilda missing out.

The Western Bulldogs match in 2 weeks will be particularly important. Its probably season on the line for them so they will be very motivated. There may be echoes of the final round of 2009 against the Hawks in that one. I expect it will be more spirited than most H&A matches.

I suspect Gold Coast at Metricon will not be easy for us. Especially if GAJ turns it on.

Adelaide have a dominant record against us as well. They are the only team to give us a real belting this year as well. Though I suspect our next encounter will be a lot closer. That day they really had everything working for them and I feel our team has improved considerably since then.

I must admit I'm glad that for us to make it - we have to at a minimum win 4/6 which would take us to 6/8 games to finish the H&A. If we make it - at least we'll have some good form behind us.

I think Melbourne will do enough to make it.

I think West Coast and Saints may miss out with Dogs and Bombers to fight for the last spot.
