Just looking back at our 28 Grand Final appearances (won 14, lost 14 - two of our 16 premierships were won in a round-robin finals series). A 50-50 record, which is at least better than Collingwood.
But looking at the margins, we have won nearly all of our GFs comfortably (with the exception of pre-1925, when scores were typically low), but have lost a lot of close ones, as this chart shows:
Between 1943 and 1968, we lost five GFs by less than two goals (four less than a goal, including a draw in which we lost the replay). But since 1943, the lowest winning margin of our 10 premierships in that time was 24 points (1984).
Could easily have 20 premierships...
