its almost like a once-in-a-decaxe injury crisis forces your ruck coach to pull the boots onwhen Goldy at almost 37 is your second BOG your in trouble
yes and no
Essendon scarcely hits their draft picks and even when they do we need 50+ games to see if they are up for it.
Take recent memory.
Cox - Bust
Ridley - Talent there but simply cannot get his body up for AFL. 2016 draft class and hasn't even played 100 games.
Perkins - Bust
Reid - Future also there but again cannot get his body ready for AFL.
Tsatas - Looking to be a bust
Hobbs - has a crack but is very meh
Draper - Also constantly injured.
could go on and on.
IMO we need 2-3 years to nail drafts, than a further 3-4 years to actually develop them to be 50+ gamers.
I think best case we are in this hole for another 4-5 years.
Bloody hard work supporting this club. Cannot understate the job Rosa has in front of him.

You’re being overly negative focusing on the poor and not the good.
Let’s assume you need 6 elite players and another 9-10 good players to be a top side. Then everyone else can be average but play a role and things normally go pretty well.
The past 5 years we’ve added
Reid (injury issues and talls take time) Hayes (1 unlucky injury)
Martin
Durham
Caddy, Roberts, Kako, Johnson, Clarke
Assuming development and progression That’s about 1/2 of the players needed with 2-4 potentially elite guys (Reid, Martin, Caddy, Kako)
With the opportunity to take multiple first round picks (or trade for a star) or both I think smart work this trade season could have everything looking a lot better in 12 months time
not really
the fact is Essendon has had far more negative results than positive results. its not my opinion, that's just the reality and there is no point lying to ourselves.
Until all those players bar Durham and Martin get to 50+ games, we wont know how good they are.
Why would you even assume we develop and progress them, when Essendon has a terrible track record of it?
Like i said i am hopefully we are on the right path, but you'd be stretching to find the "good" atm, cause its not a very obvious.
dont worry, your click baiting will be answered with agreement from almost everyoneEssendon small forwards

Time for a bold crossover. Or is that NML franchise phase 4?
expecting north melbourne's previous regime to clean up the mess of your previous regime is truly brilliantdont worry, your click baiting will be answered with agreement from almost everyone
The current people in charge has alot of mess to clean up from the previous regime
expecting north melbourne's previous regime to clean up the mess of your previous regime is truly brilliant
A lot of those people worked at other clubs or doing other things after the left north
Should we tell him ?
Buy a powerball. Not contending and not rebuilding, it's been this way for a long time at Essendon.
They were last rebuilding when Knights was coach and last contending when Sheedy was coach.
How do Essendon get themselves out of this perpetual cycle of mediocrity?
