I think our Pick 23 is a pretty fair trade for riska.

Matters little, your club took him so don't be so hypocritical when clubs try to do it to your players.

Riska grew up in your backyard... you had plenty of opportunity to grab him in that draft.

We got him at 61 in the same draft you took Kepler Bradley at 6 in.

Ask questions of your recruitment staff rather that floating trade scenarios with Brisbane supporters who have no say in the process either way.

It's a very different situation. We lost Headland and in a 3 way deal ended up getting Caracella in return. Essendon are just straight out trying to pinch another club's player.

There's a difference between taking and poaching. He was shipped off by the Dons because of the salary cap. No such excuse here.

Hindsight is a beautiful thing, I would feel worse at our recruiting staff if they weren't asking questions about uncontracted players. All clubs do it.

Essendon wanted to trade him - salary cap pressure - probably from overpaying certain players - still doing it too if the reported price on offer for Rischitelli is correct

So you feel happy for your club to offer, and lets be honest, an amount of money that is considerably higher then what the player in question is worth. Rischitelli is an in and under ball winner, but at this stage he is still inconsistent and his disposal at times is questionable. In saying that, i want him to stay at the Lions but it is more a reflection of Essendon that they are offering such inflated salaries to players that are not worth the amount in question.

It is a straight out raid on a clubs stocks, stocks that have been gained from low picks when other clubs have shanked there own selections. Essendon have had problems with the salary cap in the past and going by this latest stunt they still haven't learned their lesson. The lesson that needs to be learnt is that it is a lot cheaper and rewarding to develop players rather then poach other teams talent, and try to "buy" a flag.

1) Essendon DON'T have a history of poaching players. They DO have a history of making stupid trade offers that simply halt proceedings.

2) Get over Michael. HE may have done the wrong thing by Brisbane, Essendon (via Garry O'donnell) were at worst opportunistic. Don't forget, Hawthorn were in the game too. In fact, they made the first approaches to Michael, so if a plan was hatched to get him back to melbourne it probably originated there.

3) The Rischa / Essendon thing gets mentioned every time he comes out of contract - by the media. Just like Jon Brown / Collingwood. whether there is any truth to it at all is almost irrelevent - the media love this stuff.

4) I hope he re-signs with brisbane. one of the things i've liked about essendon is that we DONT pinch players from other clubs. the fabric of the game is so much better when players are one-club career men.

5) Voss and Knights being the coaches means the whole thing starts with a clean slate. We don't really know how either will effect their clubs trading and drafting. So far, knights seems pretty up-front and direct. Can't imagine Vossy being much different.

Cameron Wood netted us pick 14.

Second round offers for Rischitelli make me laugh.

Our second round pick wouldn't be enough, i agree, but we are hardly going to give you pick 5 now are we.

We don't have Sheeds making outlandish trade deals this year, more than likely he'll be signed by trade week but if he is keen to come to Essendon i'm sure you'll be compensated fairly.

It does sound fairly high for what he's produced so far in his career, but Knights must see something in him to make that offer.
