Being an Essendon member and the massive contrast in halves of the season that we have witnessed, including injuries etc etc, do you think we are privy to the results of the internal review once it is completed?

Being a passionate supporter going every week including the past 3 games and again on Saturday, I feel that the members of the club should be told the direction it intends to take over the summer and the period of 2013-14, or is that something that would never see the light of day and not get into the public arena?

Whether that's aggressive in trading, pre-season agenda...I guess just a little more insight into the club and it's thinking/direction...or are we just supporters and get dealt with whatever the club wants us to hear?

Thoughts?

It's an internal review, so that suggests no . They won't go broadcasting every minute detail of it, you can be assured of that.

Little tidbits fleshed out as puff pieces in the media are probably about all you can expect.

I don't really care, all i want to know is that the club is doing everything in its power to win flags, and since our name isnt "Melbourne Demons" i think they are,,,

If the review is more than window dressing, I don't want it to be made public. I want there to be home truths which should never reach the media.

Absolutely. The idea of an open review is a nonsense.

Part of said review, however, should include greater transparency. Part of what makes this season so difficult to suffer is all the smoke and mirrors. I don't mind if you're going to deliver on it, but if it's all going to go to shit that means you're not really allowed to toy with the supporters anymore.

Will the home truths involve sackings or shifting chairs on the Titanic.

We have one game in Melbourne since May.

Ouch !

Won one?

Yes... I dismissed it at the time because the Bulldogs were so horrible. Should've enjoyed it more, in retrospect.

Obviously the fitness side of things will be looked at but the injuries will be put down as "for the greater good of the team" and with another preseason you would expect this to drop off.

I don't expect to see a massive change in how things are being done

It's the only Victorian game I've missed in 2 years ... I haven't seen a win since Dreamtime.

If they give 45,000 people intimate information, there will be 10,000 giving the club 'advice' on where they think the club should head. Don't give the people a voice...the vast majority are irrelevant and stupid.

Become a coterie member though and you'll receive all the information you crave. A good friend is one and is usually very well informed on club matters.

Pffft... “reviews”... they’re such bullshit... it’s just a nice, inoffensive, plain, vanilla, general answer for anybody from the club to give when questioned about the future of anybody.

“We’ll be undergoing a total review of everything we do at the end of the season and then we can make some educated decisions”.

Give me a ****in spell. Last time we heard that crap (word for word) was in 2010. It’s all they said for the second half of the year. And then they sacked the senior coach 12 hours after the last game.

It's just politician crap, a whole lot of words without giving an answer.

Evans, Robson, Hamilton, Hird and Bomber already know where we’re going and how they wanna get there. There’s not gonna be some great soul-searching exercise. If anyone is getting a bullet they already know it, and will fire it next week.

All we hear about is how they’re planning for next year. They don’t want or need some “review” now to tell them what they already know.

Yes meant won one game - Imagine if I travelled to Melbourne in June/July/August - I would be heart-broken.

No wonder you have been grouchy for the last 3 months.

Cats had a review at end of '06. Didn't do too badly afterwards. Yeah we're not Geelong but sometimes you need someone to tell you the ship needs to straighten up.

Has Essendon used or will they get "Leading Teams" invovled as Geelong did? Seems to have worked for other clubs, except the Bulldogs!

Sounds like some A-grade tail chasing (unless it is just the standard end of year review).

I'm not sure where the home truths would come from. We got the strength and conditioning side of things wrong and need to fix it. I don't know what else there is to say.

Chambo, there is no need for leading teams.
