The idea is undeniably great, switch out the jet for a version of the 80's plane and it'd be pretty damn cool.

I actually really like the current logo. I never hated it in the first place, unlike some of the other (Adelaide tbh) shitty logos that have popped up around the AFL, the current one fit nicely.

Still love the 80's one, however, always will.

They look pretty cool but I don't really see a point to a return of the sheild. To me the sheild logos lacked individuality, they meant that every club had to have the same old style while adding little of their own look.

I thought it might be worth posting our pre VFL sheild logos

I'm not sure about when any of them were made as I just scanned them out of a Bomber magazine but something extra to add is there's our club motto " Sauvitor in modo fortiter in re" ( “Gentle in manner, resolute in deed”) under the first logo (very faintly).

A bit of a dredge from the archives, but the fact that the below logo is not available in high res has been bugging me for a while, so I got tracing.

It's probably going to end up as a tat on my arm (with 16 scored below, ready to be increased as needed ), so I needed a good high res pic.

If anyone wants the original SVG's or whatever, just let me know.

What's your favourite logo Essendon has had?

Do you think it needs to be changed?

And what do you think of the Mozzie we use at the mascot.

Personally i loev the cartoon plane we used to have with the teeth (which im getting tattooed on me very soon).

I honestly HATE that stupid mozzie we use! HATE HATE HATE. A mozzie ffs. its really not great...

I think we should change every 2nd year, just, umm, because.
There's all these marketing consultants going unemployed because we're only changing it every decade or two, think about them.

Plus, like we've seen with Richmond & Brisbane's recent logo attempts: any change is good.

I like the 'gate' one too..but I'd have the sash on both flags instead of the stripes..

I love the logo on the gate too. Adds a sense of history.
I'd like to get rid of 'Skeeta' and get the old plane back but I guess the mascots more for the kids.
Wonder whether the younger children supporters like Skeeta.
The plane wouldn't really fit in with the rest of 'Mascot Manor' I guess.

I'm fine with Skeeta due to the history there, but frankly he should be less Adrien Brody and more Arnie. Or at least Danny Glover-ish.

Yeah, I don't quite know what I mean by that either.

Basically they should make the character design somehow badass. Maybe give him a pimp cane. Which is also a sword.

...or maybe just bring back the bomber and to hell with Mascot Manor. I don't understand the concept of having the mascots of opposing sides living in the one house, anyway. Unless it's like the Cluedo house or something and everyone's always murdering each other for shits and giggles.
