Looks horrible! Essendon fans should print out their constitution and march on the clubs headquarters in a protest ending with the mass burning of their memberships!!

Yup, because only light and dark colours can be distinguished from one another.
The performance matched the guernsey, though. Very honest.
Looked horrific. The AFL should be answerable to supporters for enforcing this shit.
The person who designed that jumper should have his eyes removed ..it was hideous in the extreme...how could anyone in their right mind think those colours combined could be affective...it was embarrassingly bad.
The grey just wasn't light enough for the contrast, Saints dark kit and Dons light kit works fine
Not necessarily, but that seems to be the way the AFL likes it, i.e. dark vs. light. Most teams already wear white-based or predominantly white away guernseys (Carlton's is light blue, which does the job, but I much preferred our white clash guernsey). Essendon should just change the base colour to white from grey.

Essendon provided a genuine alternate strip that was completely different from their normal one. I'm satisfied.
However, it wasn't really that effective. Next time we have a home game I think the fat sash/red shorts is the way to go.

Oh it was effective for you guys.
Any team who can wear a lighter version of their ORIGINAL jumper should just do it regardless of who's home game it is.
