It looks like they came up with a sensible, smart, white clash jumper... then someone took to it with a grey-lead pencil.

Looks ridiculous.
It's simple, every clash strip should have a base colour of white or at least be predominantly white so as to create a proper "dark" vs. "light" dichotomy.
Yup, because only light and dark colours can be distinguished from one another.
The performance matched the guernsey, though. Very honest.
The person who designed that jumper should have his eyes removed ..it was hideous in the extreme...how could anyone in their right mind think those colours combined could be affective...it was embarrassingly bad.
Well if they didn't, then mission accomplished. The EFC don't necessarily want it to look good.
The grey just wasn't light enough for the contrast, Saints dark kit and Dons light kit works fine
It didn't work for the players or us supporters thats for sure.
.. and grey socks.no, it didn't work tonight
as I said the grey needed to be a lighter shade
Essendon provided a genuine alternate strip that was completely different from their normal one. I'm satisfied.
However, it wasn't really that effective. Next time we have a home game I think the fat sash/red shorts is the way to go.
