Very strong opinions by Bill Jennings. I appreciate his upfront honesty on where he stands but personally believe he will struggle to get support to be on the board.

I believe the casual blase` non-member Essendon supporter may hold same views as him.

However it is the members, passionate Essendon supporters who decide who goes on the board.
These are the #standbyhird, Hird stays as coach crew. This is the majority view shared by many Essendon supporters.

I have said it before and will say it again....

No Essendon board should sack/remove James Hird as coach. The only way we could accept Hird being sacked would be due to repetitive seasons of bad on-field performance or contiually finishing lowly on the ladder (very unlikely).

Time for people like Jennings to stop Calling for Hird to go and just face up to the realisation that Hird is Essendon. Essendon is Hird. Simple as that.

If Hird was somehow overthrown as coach before the 2015 season then it will be time to grab then lengths of 6x4 and some nails and board the club windows up, throw away the front door key and walk away...would just be a 17 team comp.

^This we do not want.

*James *Albert *Hird putting the mess into messiah!

Well surprise, surprise, sur-*******-prise. The AFL trying to use the players as leverage to force Hird out.

Underhanded campaigners.

Either force Hird out or don't. Stop using the players, this is their livelihood and not a game. Fact is the AFL had the chance to force Hird out indefinitely but they instead chose to suspend him.
Another it's all the AFL's fault that Hird set up a dodgy doping program post.

bwahahaha

Actually one essendon poster runs a consistent line thatit is the AFLs fault because they didn't intervene to stop Essendons problems while another essendon poster runs the line that the afl are syds for interrupting a legitimate program.

"
glory be me, at a time we need a bit more stability we get campaigners like Jennings who wants to rip things apart and destroy our heart and soul.

This campaigner shouldn't be let anywhere near Bomberland.

Gauci and Cunningham are a bunch of snakes also. Been listening to Cunningham on SEN for the past 2 years and not once has he backed us or defended the club or players.. He seems more interested in promoting his businesses.

Gauci has AFL lapdog written all over. Play the game, climb the ladder, shaft the heart and soul supporters and give political answers.

Please folks, do not vote for these guys. We don't want to enter an era where we have massive supporter division and our culture shredded by some suits."

From the Age, a comment:

"
Don't waste your breath Couchy, this is not about right and wrong, it's just the usual tall poppy syndrome. It was the same when Hird played - endless insults from the peanut gallery about him being a "pretty boy" and "soft" despite being one of the toughest and most courageous players to pull on a pair of boots.

The reality is that the club has pulled through "the saga" very well. Record memberships, a healthy profit, a grand total of ONE player leaving on account of the ASADA investigation (player exodus!!), two decent draft picks despite the sanction and a very solid looking list. Plus we blitzed the attendances in 2014 despite having just a reasonable on-field year. We'll just keep doing what we do under Hird's leadership and the rest can bleat on from the sidelines."

Hird has become Lindy Chamberlain again....

More Age:

"
This guy has no chace. Its the ones calling for Hirds head that are reacting without any ounce of fact or logic. Hysteria driven by certain media types with clear agendas. There is no logical reason Hird should step aside given he did not run the supplement program. Was not answerable to by Dank or Robinson (Paul Hamilton was). And has already taken a 12 month ban from his job. (Don't give me the paid holiday garbage, if you think he wanted to be in France away form his family instead of coaching the club he bleeds for, you are a fool) Hird is rightfully, logically and legally back in his rightful job."

If the players take a deal, why should James hird be sacked???
NRL players took the deal, their coach has served his suspension and is now back at the helm.
Yet there is no media outlet asking for him to be sacked."

Call me naive, but i couldn't see Pies fans being so ultra-supportive of Buckley if he ran a similar program at Collingwood.

Honestly think Essendon fans are in denial and using emotion and misguided sense of loyalty to Hird to cloud their judgement.

Lance Armstrong supporters had the same delusion for years, before the truth about Armstrong's systematic cheating and bullying was finally exposed.

Put your hand on your heart and repeat after me: "Essendon is great"

-Best resourced club in the land
- Top 4 contending team
- Exceptional list depth and quality for the first time in 15 years
- Best training facilities in Australia
- Best coaching staff in the AFL
- Exceptional recruitment, development and professional development structures in place
- 60,000 members, making us one of the top 5 memberships in the country, possibly even higher this season
- Highest 'revenue per membership' in Victoria
- Potential Premiership side

'Potential Premiership Side'

Lol'd.

Every side is.

'Best Coaching Staff in the AFL'

Every side is.

Yep, between a 2x bringing the game into disrepute and no finals wins coach (Hird), a failed senior coach with ties far too close to cycling and drugs (Craig-not a coach though), a spud (Neeld), a failed senior coach who was known for mismanaging players, almost similar to how Essendon mismanaged their trip to Perth this year (Harvey), and a no name spud (Skipworth). Bassett is a keeper though.

'Top 4 contending team'

Lol'd

All but 5 teams can claim that.

And a load of other generalised non-specific subjective rubbish.
