Will these druggies never learn.
Apparently not...

Maybe to you guys out of the club. However, Hird is 100% Essendon and doesn't care about the AFL and can support himself without the coaching gig.

When the heat was on for the saga he drew fire for the whole club.

Hird has done better with this list than Thompson has. He will be given to the end of next year and will be judged by how he transforms the list. Fantasia and Edwards getting games is a good start. It would be great to see Browne and Laverde out there too.

It is absolutely remarkable how much leeway Hird is getting, even for Essendon fans. Even for this thread!!!

The vast majority are coming out with "he reports to Craig", "the saga has become too much", "the players were always going to be affected", "he's transforming the list" (smart move to bring in guys like Giles, Cooney, Chapman - now he can delist them and claim he is rebuilding).

He's in his 5th? season.
Essendon have scored 46, 53 and 59 the last 3 weeks.
They had 413 disposals for 35 inside 50's last night.
They have lost Crameri, Monfries and Ryder, severely depleting their forward line and are possibly going to lose Carlisle under Hirds watch, meaning they have a forward line of Daniher (young but not a superstar), Colyer (now solid but not great) and also-rans and has-beens.
The list needs to turn over Fletch, Winderlich, Gwilt, Chapman, Cooney, Bellchambers, and Giles. Stanton and Goddard aren't finished but they certainly aren't the players they once were. Not a fan of Dempsey, Melksham, Ashby, Ambrose. 12 players minimum who aren't going to be part of any tilt.
They didn't play a ruckman against Naitanui who gave first use to a midfield that has been excellent this season all night.

Probably overboard for a Bay thread but I cannot honestly see how they defend him so much. North fans want Scott sacked when we see "In: Jacobs Out: Dumont"...

Hird is actually a great coach.

Be patient, wait for success.

Don't get caught up in the hysteria
And from the church of Hird a rewriting of Lloyd's work the other night.

Essendon great Matthew Lloyd has clarified comments he made about the Bombers list.

On 3AW on Friday night, Lloyd said Essendon could be in for a tough five years because of the draft penalties suffered in 2013.

But Lloyd stated today, that doesn’t mean the club will be spending time at the bottom of the ladder.
