Smooth mover, it's fairly clear he wasn't actually being serious.

I think what he was trying to get at, is that 11.23 is misleading and that Geelong didn't necessarily fritter away as many opportunities as the scoreline suggests.

There may be some element of truth to that, but the fact that Hawthorn felt moved to rush 11 behinds in the first place says the Hawk defence was under a fair bit of pressure for much of the day. Geelong's movement into the forward line lacked its usual precision that day. And that's without even taking into account the goal kicking yips that affected Mooney and Ottens, and Lonergan having an absolute shocker of a day.

Yes I realise that, just trying to keep up with everyone else on this thread & have a stir!! All in good fun.... :thumbsu:

LOL - no behinds since 2010... was he even on the park enough since 2010???? If 'Clangermakers' was able to hold Choke to one goal last weekend, we really fear for him on Fumbleton.

Nah i'm pretty sure it was clokes unsolved contract that held cloke to 1 goal last week! Clangers was just in the visinity & took the credit....

I think the Geelong win last year can be put down to 70% tactics and 30% determination.

We don't seem to have any inside knowledge on the hawks, are highly injury affected and at the moment are playing without a lot a determination.

I like the enthusiasm by some posters but I really can't see a win this week.

You think this week is bad? I recall almost EVERY poster on this site (Bombers included) predicted a 100 point massacre to the Cats last year. Not only did we get obliterated by half a Hawk side the week before, we copped a lot of injuries. We also beat the Cats without our captain. I have a good feeling about this week, if Richmond can belt Hawthorn then why can't we beat them? They are beatable with or without Buddy and Hodge.

I just think it's pretty fickle to go from criticising a player as much as many Hawthorn supporters did with him last year, to one year later pumping up his tyres as much as some now are. He has improved- but not that much.

If that is your point then I agree. Carry on.

He has improved a truckload this year but he has also matured a truckload aswell. It has helped him being in a settled backline that has had minimal changes since the first month. They are all in tune with each other at the moment.

Watson 29 disposals and 7.2 clangers per game. That's 1 in 4 disposals

Shoey 16 disposals and 0.4 Clangers per game. That's 1 in 40 disposals.

So again how is the name Clangermakers in anyway apt ?

hehehe thats an easy one....prelim final last year, 2 mins to go, dropped chest mark in back pocket that resulted in a ball goal lol....grrrrrr terrible memories but earnt the name there lol. Wont be tagged this in a few years though hes coming on nicely.

After reading some of the absolute nonsense in this thread i hope hawthorn dont win by the 'expected' margin of around 30 points....i hope its a lot more lol.

ESSENDON could be forced to field a weakened side against Hawthorn on Friday night with boom forward Stewie Crameri under an injury cloud.
The banged-up forward missed two matches this month through suspension but returned for last week's heavy loss to Geelong, only to strain his hamstring.

The Bombers confirmed today Crameri and David Myers were in doubt to face the Hawks, while Michael Hurley (hamstring), Paddy Ryder (calf) and David Zaharakis (quad) are all at least two weeks away from returning.

The Dons are suddenly vulnerable in the top eight despite their 11-5 record due to a difficult run home.

But the Dons will regain Heath Hocking from suspension, while there were positives signs in VFL affiliate Bendigo's loss on Saturday.

Returning knee victim Jason Winderlich got through another game unscathed while first-round draft pick Elliott Kavanagh put his hand up to make his debut.

Kavanagh, a classy midfielder who surprisingly slipped to No. 19 in last year's draft, was best-on-ground in the 11-point defeat.

Brent Prismall also returned for his first game in 12 months but will require more time in the VFL before he can be considered match fit.

"Stewart (Crameri) experienced a little bit of tightness in his hamstring so we will take every precaution with him before selecting him to play,” Bombers coach James Hird told Bombers TV.

“David (Myers) got a knock to his calf during the game against Geelong and it has taken a little bit longer than expected to recover – he will be assessed over the next couple of days to determine if he’s right to go.”

Cushy draw, hilarious :D

There are 8 interstate sides, and on average you'd be expected to play at least 1-2 of them twice. Therefore you'd expect to travel 5-6 times on average. You travel 3 times. Cushy draw.

Those games travelling to play GC and GWS would be tough

Much tougher than playing them at the G. 3 interstate games is an absolute gift, make the most of it, because I doubt many clubs will see those sort of numbers again.

We got a good run but we get 2 of the best 3 interstate teams away in West Coast and Sydney. You only have to worry about 1, Adelaide

Disregarding Cloke's two goals in round 1 as well....? Cobbler was on him that game too, and the contract saga had not reached its current peak back then... Illogical post Smooth Mover!

Have you ever heard of a tongue in cheek comment?? If not maybe next time you should stay SILENT!!

Gee u hawks supporters are so sensitive....:D

Looking forward to smashing your mob of frontrunners this week - not much in football gives me greater pleasure. And to the people talking up Fumbles on Schoe, you might want to check what happened last time they played on each other. Fumby 7 touches - fewest in the team, fewer than Schoe, most in junk time. Would love to see them go at it again.

Anyway, banter thread is a great idea, cheers!

Now, let's look at the REAL stats.

Watson - clangers per game: 2.4
Schoenclangers - clangers per game: 3.1

Equal league leader in clangers per game from guys who have played more than 5 games: Budwah Franklin

EDIT: I just realised you were looking at CLEARANCES per game instead of CLANGERS per game. lol, if you're going to troll our players, at least get your stats right.
