Essendon vow enough is enough

Let me put this to you in simple terms.

You are not Collingwood. You never will be.

No one is suggesting we are Collingwood.

You are having an argument with yourself?

It's not a grand statement at all. These clubs have gone past Essendon, who have stagnated through diabolical leadership and on field performance.

My facts are plain and clear. You are held up by large attendances against the three biggest clubs in Melbourne on Marquee fixtures you are gifted by the AFL.

No club has more marquee fixtures than Essendon. You have even more than Collingwood.

Memberships don't mean anything if you are getting sub 30k crowds against smaller teams, because that just further strengthens my point that you are getting carried by the big 3 in those marquee fixtures.

There is so much delusion at Essendon it is actually hilarious.
Take this rubbish to bay 13 where it belongs.

Mate, as much as I hate The Drug Cheats you're wrong here. In 2016 Pies had 3 home games with less than 30K, GC game was 17K!

The fact they are such a big club after decades of failure just shows how deluded their fan base is.
He’s a troll. At least you’re distancing yourself from the crap. Well done yesterday btw, a promising game style and a terrific full forward to build a club around.

How do we have more marquee fixtures if we're the ones being carried?

He can’t justify it. I asked for some evidence to support grand claims:

  • That Essendon is commercially smaller than Adelaide
  • That Essendon is unique in drawing numerous sub 30K crowds (compared with Collingwood) in a comparable season
  • That Essendon commercially isn’t a ‘big club’

Avoiding the question because can’t provide evidence to support the incorrect claim, is to look for ‘riders’ like fixture support! It’s a big hole already, I don’t think he will be back to dig it deeper otherwise you’d think he was building a Meriton Hotel!

Always inflated by Anzac day and dreamtime though.

in 2022/2023 you had 7 home games of sub 30k crowds

2022
Adelaide
Freo
Suns
North
Port

2023
GWS
Suns

Yet your supporter base screams out for more games at the G. You dont deserve it.
In 2016 Collingwood had sub 30K crowds against:
Total = 6
Suns (H)
Eagles (H)
Dockers (H)
Giants (A)
Lions (A)

In 2017, Collingwood had sub 30K crowds against:
Total = 3
Power (H)
Suns (A)
Giants (A)

So, Collingwood also get sub 30K crowds in their ordinary on field years.

Hmm. There you go……

Thats the big question isnt it.

Collingwood could play Gold Coast on Anzac day and the crowd figure would be the same.
Ludicrous. You may get the same crowd but nowhere near the demand for tickets. G has finite capacity. So if thats your argument, its pretty poor.

Outside of covid and a year where 90% of our list was suspended, we've been top 4 for h&a attendances. And in 2016 we only slipped back to 5th

This goes back to 91, then 1980 that before we drop off regularly.
As for anzac day, first one was 95. Not sure how the 15 years prior can be explained.

Along with collingwood weve been the most consistent top 4 team for crowds in 40+ years.
