Will be nice to have a look at the kids in a closely matched line up. We have more experience across the board (Shiel, Hately, Hoare, O'Neill, Setterfield) but the Pies kids look good.

BrunoV are you on Josh Eyre watch or have you given up hope of him ever becoming something at the highest level?

Lual - probably best on for us so far. Getting himself into good positions to intercept, has had it 6 times and whilst his ball use is tidy, has turned over a couple of times also.

Shiel & Setterfield - Both look to have some good intent today. Shiel in particular looks explosive at times and his ball use looks incisive.

Tsatas - learn to kick after the first one I think has been a 50:50 or turnover every other possession

I continue to maintain that Will Hoare would be a useful pick up for a club looking for mature depth. Just gets the job done each time I see him. Cam Nyko continues to imprsss as well

Quarter time, scrappy contest as you would imagine. Pies (9) lead Essendon (7)

All about territory, we are still maybe over possessing slightly but we are winning the lock in f50 game. Lual taken a small handful of intercept marks

Dylan Shiel finished the quarter with 11, a far cry difference from last week. Looks good with intent to match his burst in the wet conditions. lots of 1 - 2's probably inflated the stat sheet but he is going well.

Lual Lual - Probably our second best in that first quarter. Took lots of marks and generally used it well.

Will Setterfield - 8 hard fought and contested possessions from Will. Good start. Think we'll manage him if he slows down in these conditions but playing an important role in the slog fest.

Hayes had a sneaky 7 touches, think 2 were kick ins and another a free kick.

Nick Bryan - The ruck battle has been intriguing. Bryan probably getting the upper hand later in that quarter.
