Dont compare your washed up team that finished 15th last year, so a team that finished 5th. We were the highest placed Victorian team to finish after the Home & Away season. We were also the highest scoring team.

No comparison, we will be there in 2007 again, also most likely still be Vic biggest hope. After all we were the last Vic team to make a grand final..

Ridiculous thread.

Then why is Essendon leading the poll? Obviously this year looms as the year things will change....stop living in the past

Mate, there was a similar poll last year, in which Essendon won the poll, and rather comfortably.

And we all now how last season turned out don't we.

A poll on BF means nothing.

Good point.....just saying that what Collingwood have done in the past has sack jhit to do with 2007

Good to see you've left room for the Blues at 16th.

I'd be surprised if the Dons didn't jump up the ladder with Lloyd back and Michael added to the list... however there was a pretty sizeable disparity between the two club's respective ladder positions in 2006.

For that reason, I'll say Collingwood.

I find it funny how in 2005 Collingwood found it a reasonable excuse to blame injuries for their 15th place finish, but find it offensive when Essendon do the same for 2006.

FWIW: Lloyd will bolster our forward line, and have the flow on effect for the rest of the forwards receiving the next best defender.

Michael gives us a viable option to play on the monsters of the competition, and frees Fletcher up.

Stanton, Watson, and Monfries are a year older and each have a good pre-season behind them and will each improve the midfield for 2007.

I am not kidding myself, I know we are not up with the best sides yet, but we are on the way. 5th-11th

I see a similar year to the one they just had for Collingwood. April-May champions, then slide away. 5th-11th also.

I agree with most of that, however...

W.C. Eagles
Adelaide
St.Kilda
Melbourne
W. Bulldogs
Fremantle
Hawthorn
Richmond

These teams are all ahead of Essendon which will make it very hard for us to break into the top 8. Not impossible though.
Teams like Richmond and Hawthorn, you would think, need to finally take the next step and become finals teams. They've been rebuilding for long enough.

I still think Essendon will finish above Collingwood simply because we have much more scoring power than they do. They'll probably be relying on Buckley to play as a permanent FF, my guess is he won't because they'll need him in the middle at times.

If you look up just one post from yours, you'll find a Collingwood supporter commenting on what a difference having Lloyd back in your side will make. That's tantamount to saying his injury had a big impact on the Bombers' performance in 2006.

Ahhhh 2007.

Anything could happen.

Right now though, you would be naive to not believe Essendon are going to work their way up the ladder.

Would you call that the typical response though?

********ed if I know, it's my response though.

What constitutes a "typical response" if you've got parrot saying Betts is better than Davey?
