I think for most of us the Bombers exceeded expectation in 2016 by winning a couple of games. Now their full strength side is back what are people's expectations? Are they a side building up to a finals series with young talents or will they struggle to integrate their seniors back?

It's disgraceful that the AFL are allowing this juggernaut that lost to St Kilda by 110 points to get back together.

Bottom 8, don't think they'll improve as much as some think. They were bottom 4 with the returning players in 2015.

They are setting themselves up well for 2018 and beyond though.

Essendon were mid-table last year before the WADA appeal was announced, then herped the derp. They probably would have finished just outside the eight without that blow to morale.
I suspect the year off for so many players will see them struggle early next year, but might be a decent side by year's end. 2018 they might well be finalists, maybe pushing top four but who can really predict that far ahead.

And yet people say we shouldn't get the number one pick as we only finished last because we had players missing. Hypocrites

they were bottom 4 with all there players yet now people are saying top 4 or finals when they have sat out for a year and are a year older

Yeah if only anything had occurred in the last year that suggested we might have found/developed some new players or that our players in 2015 may have had some sort of off-field issue to deal with that may have affected their play. Oh well guess we'll just be down the bottom alongside Richmond.

The problem is going to be that they don't have that quick disposal style of play like the Bulldogs, Hawks, Sydney, GWS, Saints, other teams. The style where they always have 3-4 players around every contest, run all game to the contest and work as a midfield unit with eyes in the back of their head, that can also be quick on the spread across the game.

It's very difficult to know until we see a couple of games...

Having more of a midfield spine will help and Hurley, Hooker etc...

Where is the leg speed and midfield spark going to come from??

Aside from Parish and Merrett.
