Some club doctor or other accused body builders of being a little reckless when it comes to drug experimentation, when he wrote.
"The other interesting thing about AOD/9604, is that its market in America is in body builders. This also should raise a red flag if we are worried about perception."
Bluntly, this is an unfair accusation - at least some of the body building community have displayed a greater caution towards the downsides of performance-enhancing drugs than the Essendon Football Club.
Specifically, Im talking at Beta Thymosin-4.
Some alleged michigan resident called SpecialEd8256 or other asks around on Testosterone Nation.
Ive been reading up on tb4 for a couple weeks now and might give 'er a try.
Any experiences, tricks, tips on dosing (5mg or 2mg/wk), etc?
Also interested as to whether this would pop up in a PED test or not...
He gets warned by thethirdruffian in pretty brutal terms
And something about the whole process strikes me as the kind of thing that could cause cancer, or rather cause a cancer that your body would normally defeat grow way the **** out of control and kill you.
SpecialEd8256 is still keen, but worries about positive tests
IF it doesnt show in a PED test it would seem to me like the ultimate peptide to have for an athlete in a grueling season. No where on the entire world wide web have i found a discussion between a PED test and tb4 though
Tnation thats where you come in. Does it work, is it detectable?
krazylarry reiterates the cancer warnings when citing a 2010 study
Notice they were looking for very healthy volunteers, non-smoking etc so obvioulsy they wanted to avoid any flaring up of potential dormant cancer.
Singhbuilder shows he's paying attention, and thoughts of backing off go through his mind.
Interesting, learning new things everyday. I will follow this and if I decide to use it I may start a log. Although I do agree the that there could be issues with dormant cancer cells (an area of research for me).
And Essendon Football Club ? Lets roll the tape of their sports scientist talking to investigative journalist Nick McKenzie.
SD: That's not totally true Nick because, with all due respect, right, there is good data – very good data – that supports Thymosin Beta 4 in the immune system.
NM: OK, why give it to all Essendon players if only some of them had colds and flu?
SD: Well, the point is that there is a degree of immunosuppression after a game or a hard training week, right. Often times the ability to back up next week is decreased by the hit on the immune system.
NM: Did you see any indications in Essendon players that it actually helped them?
SD: Well apart from the fact they won 11 out of their first 14, right, and we did regular bloods [blood tests] . . . at the end of the day I was very happy with the science, I was very happy after working a long time in football, right, that there are periods of malaise which are possibly related to sub-clinical flus and sub-clinical colds, right, which can affect performance. When we want to be honest, Nick, how much performance data is there out there on Actovegin [calf's blood extract)]
NM: There's a lot, isn't there?
SD: No there's not! So, you know, you've got to extrapolate from the science.
NM: How often were Essendon players taking Thymosin Beta 4?
SD: [Explains the dosage level but asks that this be not published].
Essendon Football Club. Going where bodybuilders fear to tread.
