Essendon's Talls

The question has to be asked if you've seen him play at all this year. He plays on the number 2 forward every week and will spend time on Kennedy in our upcoming game because Carlisle doesn't quite have the tank yet to go with him the whole game.

Yeah i've seen him play, and he isn't the no1 intercept mark in the comp because he plays tight on an opponent, unless of course he dons a cape and pulls his jocks over his pants.

No, he is just damn good at leaving his opponent. He's played #2 KP back all year, and apart from a stint on Waite I can't remember anyone really beating him. If you've been watching us, who do you think gets the #2 tall forward from our defence?

Carlisle at 21 is set to become an All Australain. A gun CHB that can go forward and kick goals. pick 7-10 would be an out and out steal.

Would be interested to hear from the Essendon supporters - if you could only keep one of Hurley and Carlise who gets your vote??

He also seems to be incredibly soft. For the second week in a row, a little bit of incidental contact has seen him collapsed on the ground. That bump from Campbell Brown was not exactly a full force hit and was delivered by a footballer likely 20kg lighter.

I'm guessing you haven't played much physical contact sport, or worn many bumps.

Sometime incidental hits can cause problems if they hit sensitive areas.

Agree - it looked like he was carrying a rib injury as well. Any knock would feel like a sledgehammer. He was definately sore.

Dude, have you ever played?
You're either a clueless tool, a fool with no pain receptors or a blatant troll.
Being bumped by a ball of muscle like Brown hurts.

Carlisle , Bellchambers , Ryder , Daniher , Hurley , Hooker ... Would never be traded they are out future talls.

Pears and Gumbleton both represent Around 3RD ROUND picks .

END THREAD.

I think Pears is a steal for a thrid rounder. I agree with the untouchables if Bellchmabers plays 8 or more of the remaining 11 games. He is not a VFL player. If you can swap a gun ruck for a gun mid I am no sure why you would not entertain it.

For West Coast I'd be happy to have a look at Tayte Pears. I rate him highly as a tall defender and with Glass nearing the end it would make the transition smoother

Think the Bulldogs should definately have a look at any decent and out of favour tall Bombers forward like Gumbleton. I've been hearing speculation for weeks now that Dogs are interested in Crameri

You talk a lot of sense for the Bigfooty draft board. And a North fan to boot.

You are a rare creature aren't you.

Its actually concerning now the good talls you have stock piled. Not sure you would get a top line mid for Gumby or Pears but Bellchambers puts you at the top end talent. A player like Boak would have to make it very appealing to trade Bellchambers out - especially if Ryder holds his form as the number 1 ruck. It is a risk but IMO the reward would be great. I hope you hold onto them all. :D

Small defensive forward and a top line mid. Not many glaring gaps after these get filled.

Spot on.

I'd take Boak in a heartbeat, but I can't see him or similar players leaving.

Boak is a long shot now he is captain but that is pool you would fish in. Port rucks stocks are a massive worry. They have 3 emerging mids in Wingard, Wines and Harlett. Need someone to give them a better chance to have 1st use.

Anyway a team with Tom would not have to worry about a ruckman for 8-10 years. Next 11 weeks are interesting - he comes back and dominates and this discussion is dead and buried - he struggles and plays in the VFL and it opens up. Its a good situation to be in.

As if Pears would ever leave Bellchambers. Or Hooker for that matter.

Completely ridiculous hypothetical discussion.

would essendon be interested in trading
pears & colyer for west coasts first round pick
west coast get a defender to replace glass and a outside midfielder with pace and
essendon get a first round a bit lower then what will get at the moment

Where do I sign?? Unfortunately not sure WC would entertain that offer at all. Nice try though:thumbsu:

Would trade Jamar + 2nd rounder to GWS for pick 10 (overs, but they can afford to pay it), then send 10 to Essendon for Bellchambers plus a 1st/2nd rounder (depending on ladder position) - and boom.
Why would GWS want jamar for pick 10 when by your deal they could get Bellchambers fopr pick 10....confused logic...Nobody would give that for Jamar, he's past it...

It was purely hypothetical - that's ****ing why.

What we don't know is what Essendon's salary cap and contract negotiations are looking like. You would hope with the years down that there would have been a lot of front loading, and we were meant to be able to cover Monfries salary last year, just not at the Port level. Hille and NLM also leaving. But there are a lot of guys coming out of contract who will want increases. We don't know to what degree we might be forced to get rid of one of our talls to make salary cap space. Hopefully not, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Great, take that one to the hypothetical thread....thought this was a real thread about actual proper list management and drafting/trading, Now what would you really value Bellchambers at?

This thread is filled with hypotheticals - get off your horse, however high it is.

As I said, pick 10 would be fair.

I'm tipping coll or carl to land Gumby with free agency. The q-stick simply has not worked and Cloke needs more help. Same for carl, Waite needs help, hampson no good and Casboult is just so-so.

That would work if Gumbleton was a Free Agent
