Common sense ain't too popular. I think your thought process is $1.01 honestly. 2026 is big for the Hawks given Gunston and a few others age (although he might be able to go on, cos he's that clever), so maybe we're jumping the gun a tad.

Hawks might look at the VFL 24 yr old Tom Blameries as a mid field boost.

Ranked in the 40s to add some depth.

A few DFAs also a chance.

Sammy is in a rush to succeed.

Is this your hunch or product of a credible talk you came across?

this old article says Pies may be interested in him and Treloar sent him tips.

I know, AFL is looking at a big fine for such a Crime :)

More a hunch due to the Hawks missing out on Merrett as a mature mid who can impact in 2026.

Taking a promising 24 yr old in the 40s would help with depth in that area and if your lucky you land a decent mid cheap.

Pies will be looking at him as they don't have any decent picks. First pick is 38 I recall.

We don't care about Essendon.

We've drafted quite strongly since 2021 and will hopefully continue to do so.

Cameron Nairn interests me at our second pick. His strengths line-up with Jack Gunston's. Getting a year or two of on-field and off-field coaching from Gunners could do wonders for the lad, like it has for Calsher Dear.
Pretty liberal use of "wonders" there...

I mean he's above average, but at this stage, not that much more.

Dear went from unlikely to be drafted to kicking 3 in his first AFL final in the space of about 13 months.

He credits most of it to Jack Gunston.

He has the tools to be absolutely anything in the future.
Going to be interesting comparing he and Caddy over the next decade.

I’m pretty confident as someone who couldn’t care less about either team, that Calshear Dear would walk into North and only be behind Larkey
Yeah, that doesn't mean that much, mate. We've won <20 games this decade. And we don't have a CHF.

Of course he walks in, so too does 55 year old Wayne Carey to be honest.

Confirmed

Jack Gunston Richmond kicking coach 2027

So you don't think anyone will take a punt on Hetherton? Quite likely right but I hope somehow we can find a way to squeeze him in at the Swans. As long as his back is OK.
