so after doing a bit of research on IOTA, i stumbled across this forum:

Anyone else had trouble retrieving IOTA?

Just in time for the implementation of stringent new regulatory requirements, some of the largest banks in the world have revealed a pilot designed to simplify compliance using ethereum.

Described internally as the Massive Autonomous Distributed Reconciliation platform, or Madrec for short, the project led by Swiss banking giant UBS, with help from Barclays, Credit Suisse, KBC, SIX and Thomson Reuters, is designed to make it easier for banks to reconcile a wide range of data about their counterparties.

Traditionally, regulated firms use what are called "legal entity identifiers" that are stored in a global data system to execute transactions on behalf of clients, even if those clients themselves don't have one of the codes. But as part of a sweeping regulatory change called the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) II, scheduled to go live in the EU on Jan. 3, 2018, all eligible legal entities will be required to have and use these codes."

Just view it as a learning experience...I’m sure anyone who has done a number of trades amongst coins will have a similar story. Onwards and upwards mate...
 
Doubled my money on Litecoin in the month or so I’ve been in Crpyto. Sold at over $250USD when it was close to its peak.
Unfortunately I had sold half of it yesterday before it boomed today as I thought the correction would come sooner.
Still have a lot invested in other coins, but will look to get back into LTC if the price drops to the low $200’s.

It’s a good start but wish I just held fire yesterday. Oh well.

Can I ask why you felt the need to sell? From what I understand litecoin has plenty of room to grow more. I could be wrong of course :)
 
FunFair sounds great too. Really solid team behind it, and pretty much no competent competition in their field. Only trading around around 4 cents, but if they get a good hold of the online casino market I think it could go boom.

The tech already works they’ve got about 7 games up and running, won a few accolades this past month and will fully launch Q1. I think they’re onto a winner, well worth reading into.

It’s daily chart was pretty much vertical. It needs a correction for it to be healthy. This type of growth is not sustainable. When it corrects, I’ll come back in. If it drops below $200USD I’ll scale back in progressively.
I don’t believe it will eclipse today’s ATH for a while.

I sold my ETH somewhere in the 600s and it's now selling for well into the 700s.
It happens, if we could predict the future wed all be millionaires.

There are guys making 10s of thousands everyday and raking in like $5k worth of coinspot referral fees per month. They're doing this right, well until it all collapses lol

Even XRP has shot up 4 or 5 cents today. Currently 38 cents on BTCMarkets. Also some rumours about Amazon and Uber partnering up with them, and a news report 37 more banks including Japanese and Korean banks trialing Ripple until January 31st 2018.

If Amazon and Uber get announced officially that’ll be huge. And the first Billion coming out of Escrow in June should also see growth. Could be a good year for XRP!

It sounds like all the major companies are now starting to invest in the various types of Blockchain technology. Mass adoption is nigh.

So I already own a number of alt coins but am considering putting some more cash in before Christmas.

Power Ledger I've heard plenty about so might hold some of that for the long term.

In regards to Bitcoin, is it worth me even chucking in 1000 bucks or so? I expect it to go up, but don't know if owning a fraction of a coin makes a whole lot of sense.

Look at the percentage growth of bitcoin... I don’t know if i’ll ever end up owning a whole bitcoin.
