Agree, Rayner is a gun. We may very well take him. I can just see us being gun-shy about Vic Metro kids. We have problems retaining players, especially during a rebuild.

Clark, Bonar, Starcervich, Kelly, Ryan... Where can i sign???

Great work again eth-dog. Think West Coast will use more than 5 picks at the draft if there's still players available but.

Jordan Harper who you had at Collingwood after our pass. I'd accept him as a later pick for WC for sure

Interesting the chat that Fremantle may take Naughton, and your comments highlight the problem. You talk about Logue and Naughton forming an alliance in defense, so that we can then fix other problems. Most Fremantle followers wonder what we would then do with A Pearce and Hamling who are our preferred KPDs and still young if we did that? We also have Cox who projects as a better defender than forward.

Powering up the mid/forward zone is what I hope happens. Stephenson and Fogarty.
People saying that we will take Naughton have no idea about Logue,Hamling, A Pearce, and Cox.

We need a key forward and midfielders.

It seemed late in the year you where playing Cox forward aswell, would think that would confirm that the club likes its key back stocks

Heard of Michael Johnson.

Cox is pretty good up forward but 4:11 for set shots suggests he isn't a forward.

Plus A Pearce was on the sidelines.

Stretching for tall isn't a great idea especially he Naughton is a defender.

Yep - a 33 year old third tall / sweeper who doesn’t play tight on opposition talls and, whilst a very good player for 15 seasons, is clearly on the downhill side of his career.

Even without Johnson we have Hamling, Alex Pearce and Logue as tall defenders, with Cox also waiting in the wings. In terms of A grade inside mids we have Fyfe and Neale (Mundy nearly done) and Blakely emerging. We need mids and forwards more than defenders. But this draft is light on for KPF so mids it will be.

I think DPS was agreeing with the idea that Freo have enough KPDs. ie If we can afford to play Cox forward then we have enough down back already.

Lloyd has basically said Freo aren't getting Naughton

“We want to boost our midfield (and) boost some forwards as well,” Lloyd said.

“Last year with Brennan Cox and Griffin Logue we got some tall backs in and Sean Darcy was a great start from a ruck position point of view.

“We’re pretty happy with the (draft) pool. We’ve got plenty of names and plenty of different shapes and sizes.

“There’s some good midfielders at the top end and enough talls throughout the draft as well so we think it’s a pretty good group to have a number of picks.”

Feel are afraid Cam Rayner is a serious flight risk if they take him at pick 2. He already said in his interview on AFL.com.au that he wants to stay In Melbourne. Therefore I believe they will take LDU or Paddy Dow depending on what Brisbane do, I see these 2 going in the the 1st 2 picks and Carlton getting Cam Rayner at pick 3. Or they can pick him and we get Dow or LDU and then we will do a trade with Deep in 2 years to bring Rayner back to Melbourne, a bit like the Josh Shcake deal last week

Or you can just do a straight trade Rayner / SPS

Carlton are always looking to 'Bring kids home lol' Maybe SPS will be looking to go home in a few years

SPS didn't want to play football in Perth, he never liked it there, too far from home and boring af.
