Ah yes....the Celtic team that had won check notes the previous 9 league titles in a row before that one Rangers undefeated season...and have won...lets see....the following 4 since! (13 out of 14)

Truly an underdog story for the ages!

Total revisionism.

Celtic were ****ed when he took over.

Rangers were huge preseason favorites and he rebuilt the squad (himself) on a shoe string out of Asia after it was gutted when he arrived.

Check notes - Against an undefeated Rangers side the previous year, a side now dubbed the invincibles in Scotland.

A Rangers side he beat in his first season, who in that year beat Dortmund and Leipzig to get to the Europa League final, losing it on penalties…

Checks notes - Lost Edouard, Ajer, Christie etc the week he signed.

Checks notes - Replaced them with no marks at the time - Kyogo, Maeda, Hatate, Jota, O’Reilly

Most of whom he personally scouted and signed.

You only need to check out the Celtic responses to when he was appointed

Bravo Spurs and bravo Ang.

Great effort especially considering the players missing from their midfield.

I bet those fans that were bagging Ang won't show their face on the various social media outlets.

A few weeks ago:
You're damn right he doesn't deserve it. He should resign tonight if he had a conscience.

Last week we'd lost as many matches as the side in 1976. Today's record, first time since 1936-37 losing over half our league matches. That season ended in relegation.

Just **** off and get out Ange.
I actually agree with him here. Ange should ride off into the sunset now so the fans can enjoy finishing 9th with no trophy next season.
Apart from the We Didn't Lose Half our League Matches Trophy of course.

Someone like that doesn't deserve to enjoy the success let's be honest. Spurs easily could have finished 7th-12th if they'd concentrated more on the league but he did the one thing the club and it's fans wanted and concentrated on winning something

How many managers have a CV like his now?

3 domestic titles on 3 different continents.

A major FIFA confederation trophy.

Spurs first European trophy in 2 generations.

All in a decade…

Seriously, is there anyone else?

The only easy kill in that group is Celtic, which is easy to forget that Rangers had just come off an invincible season and Celtic fans lost their shit at a no mark manager out of Japan being appointed.

He wasn’t the favorite to start the season/tournament for any of the trophies he won first time round.
Just love the fact he really took an apprenticeship path to the top.
Started from NSL to A League then to Australia. Off to Yokohama. Took a leap of faith to Celtic - Scottish don’t play his style. Stayed there, steadied the ship. Then took arguably a career suicide leap to Tottenham - who don’t win trophies.

English managers that have recently retired get gifted jobs at club level.
Steven Gerrard- Failed
Wayne Rooney- failed at 3 clubs.
Frank Lampard - failed in EPL

Ange really has backed himself and his philosophy throughout it all.

He was getting yelled out by Craig Foster all those years ago as just a Socceroos Youth coach!

Loved watching Australia in 2014, despite being massive underdogs, that they wanted to play a style, brand of football that only Ange would want.

He deserved to manage during the 2018 FIFA World Cup but this fickle country pushed him out only to reappoint the polar opposite in Graham Arnold after the tournament.

Put some respect on his name.

I've always said Anges Australia team is the equal of Hiddinks team as the best Aussie team ever.

He said that was his whole plan once he realised Spurs couldn’t finish top 6. Struggling with injuries, he wanted to forget about the league and put all the energy into Europa.

What’s the point of 7th-17th in league? Bragging rights?

Might as well win Europa, rebuild for Champions League and try again next season.

Oh yeah most people with eyes could see that, he rolled the dice in that sense massively by going for the League cup and the Europa League. He would have looked like an absolute w***er if they'd lost but he stuck to his guns and delivered everything he said he would.

You're 100% right though finishing 10th and losing a semi arguably keeps his job but who gives a shit

I also like Amorim and you can tell he's done the same thing. They beat Bilbao in Bilbao 3-0 or whatever it was. They're better than the 16th team in England aswell
