yea as soon as i posted i knew i went over the top on arsenal fans, especially the good ones here.
its mainly Wegner, and certain fans, who seem to have an excuse for everything. For example in the leadup to the Inter game he wouldnt give inter respect, stating arsenal had to win really well to gain the respect they dont have blah blah. It was like the guy was just expecting a big win.
After - what does he say? "I felt that everything turned against us" blah blah, "the difference between the two teams was not 3-0". Not once did I read or see him give the team who took his team to school credit.
"We had a lot of possession and if we had scored first it could have been a very different game,"....He described the first goal as "cheap" (from uefa.com). Just makes me sick that bloke, and fans like apollo creed who are blinded by reality. Yea they had some possession, but no quality possession. Couldnt he see that he played right into Inters game who love to sit back? (more so than is normal from italian clubs).
It seems every soccer fan board has at least one or two arsenal fans crying about how they werent that bad, trying to downplay Inter etc, and after seeing creeds post i had to react. I apologise to the good fans here.
Last season the popular idea going around message boards after their CL exit was "unlucky" - arsenal it seems are always "unlucky" in Europe. That was just months after reading Arsenal fans talk about going thru the season undefeated, having the best team in Europe (yep even a certain couple here were trying to convince people of this) when in Europe this team hasnt achieved anything of note.
Generally most of the Arsenal fans here are fine, but as a club, Arsenal doenst rub well on me. Its mainly wegner, but gee, they just think they are so much bigger and better than what they are.
IMO arsenals problem in Europe lies pretty much with Wegner. He obviously cant see what Man U have realised for a long time now. You cant play in Europe like you do in England. You MUST change and adapt these days, and man U do it very well. The relatively basic English style will come unstuck against (comparatively) extremely well drilled teams from the continent.
