I was there at the ground tonight and cannot more forcibly or demonstrably denigrate the performance of a bunch of myopic pea-brained morons tonight.

Many posters remind us that the umpires aren't the reason a match is won - and they have not had a more damning reason than tonight. We should have won by a further 4 goals at least.

What a pathetic display of job dissatisfaction by those insipid excuses for human bodies. Don't even bother giving out Brownlow votes tonight, they'll all probably go to Dogs' defenders.

There were probably a few but i try not to get too worked up over it. The one that stood out to me though was when the umpire pointed the wrong way when he awarded the Pies a free. He did the right thing and took the ball off the Bulldogs player, but for some reason then held up play while the Bulldogs players were able to flood back. It was very nice of him I must say.

I would like to apologize to Mason Cox for watching him get manhandled tonight and not jumping the fence to help him.

Just because he is tall it doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be paid frees.

He is being held well before the ball gets to him.

My favourite was the Langdon push in the back as the Doggies player kicked it and they called it ‘down field’ to give the Doggies a shot on goal.

I appreciate a rant as much as the next man, but please. If you're going to criticise the umpiring it is absolutely crucial that you unleash your inner tradedraft and call them SCUUMMMPPSSSSS.

In the after match they interviewed the umpires. Played them back some replays of Cox. They looked sheepish. They basically said "it's hard to tell in real time".

Don’t like the taste of the thread but we seem to get an inordinate amount of free kicks paid once we’ve already won the ball out of a contest and we’re streaming into space anyway, and seem to get a hell of a lot paid against us in situations that totally disrupt the play.

It’s probably been more noticeable than anything else this season. Opposition fans would say look at the count over the season but the numerical difference is really not the full story.

The umpiring were absolutely disgusting tonight. I'd say they should all be sent back to the VFL but that is still above the standard they showed. Totally inept, incompetent and hopelessly biased. They were shameful.

He basically said hopefully by the end of the year the umpires will finally work out what the defenders are doing to him

They often hold his hand/wrist very tight in and very low, as you say well before the ball arrives. Also don’t get me started on the bumps in the contest, Cox done the same once and got pinged for it.

They pay the opposition frees that are not there in front of their goals, but refuse to pay us frees that are there in front of ours .

They then pay us soft frees on the half back flank in no danger situations to even the numbers.

It's blatant.

There has to be some match fixing, it was bad at the game...just watching the replay...even worse. Cox is robbed almost every contest!
