I caught a snap shot of what Roos was saying coming out of the negotiations regarding Everitt. Apparently, someone has offered Hawthorn an early 2nd round draft pick for Everitt's services. Piecing the puzzle together, which club has an early 2nd round draft pick, has been known for taking mature aged ruckman and is light on in the ruck stokes?

Could Peter be Bomber bound?

I shudder to say this - due to my hatred of all things red and black, but Essendon as a club don't like to be down for to long, could an Everitt arrival, a Lloyd return, a J. Johnson resurgence and a few quality kids - at least in Sheedy's eyes, result in Essendon being a genuine shot at the finals next year?

If there was a club that could orcastrate a deal like this together, it would have to be Essendon.

I think he will go to Sydney for a 3rd round pick or he will come to us in the preseason draft. MAYBE a pick swap also say sydneys 3rd pick + 4th for Hawthorns 5th or something pointless.

would be a stupid move.
like the camporeale deal, if essendon picked up spida i would think they either over rate their list or dont have the patience or balls to rebuild their side the best way. if this draft is as good as they say then a pick in the 20's is too high a price for essendon to give up.
i always like the question " will this guy be around for our next genuine premiership tilt?" the answer i believe is no. everitt is only of value to sides not far off with deficiencies he can help, swans, saints and crows being the most obvious.

if this were to be true i would be truly annouyed with sheedy and the essendon board for picking up a player who will have little affect on our premiership hopes. essendon wont be a threat again for 3 years and the max everitt has left in him is 2. we must keep developing players instead of going for the quick fix. luckily this is just a rumour and is very likely it wont happen, i think sheedy knows that he must keep developing players such as laycock instead of going for players like everitt. if we actualy do this and stop getting players like campeorale then we could really start to develop some kids and trade for kids not oldies, then we would be on the perfect track to premiership glory again.

Hille, Laycock, Ryder, Cartledge and we kept our ruckman rookie Mckinnon who apparantly looks good.
An established senior ruckman and 2 top 10 draft picks as well as well as a few backup options.
No doubt we'd take Everitt if we could get him cheap or in the psd,but i dont think we need him enough to offer out pick 20

Who holds this mysterious early second round draft pick Roos was talking about - please don't tell me it was a lie made up by the Hawks :p Perhaps we did it last season with Hay as well.
the thought crossed my mind aswell.

I can't understand why anyone would want to give up much at all for an ageing formerly good ruckman?

I agree that only sides with a real chance of a premiership in the next 2 years would bother going after Everitt. St Kilda won't go there, once bitten. West Coast wouldn't bother with their ruck stocks (although he can kick some major goal hauls at FF). Fremantle, Melbourne or the Bulldogs... no.

I think the mystery club is Adelaide. Biglands did his knee, Hudson hasn't fully recovered from his knee, Maric and Meeson haven't fully developed yet, and Clarke retired after playing most of the season.

With this ruck situation plus Hentschel gone and Welsh perennially injured, a quality ruck who can kick plenty of goals when he goes forward would be a pretty good get for the Crows.

But I still think he'll end up at Sydney.

Oh When the Saints said:
Swans are stupid if they want to get Spider in the PSD - the Saints have a pick way before the Swans and would be able to match any offer, as we only have to pay half his contract (eligible for veteran payment).

IMO Spider will still end up in Sydney ... a deal will be done.
Spot on.

Though they couldn't confirm it, didn't SEN imply this arvo that the mystery 2nd rounder bid came from Adelaide?

isn't it supposed to be St Kilda and pick #27?

anyway what do the swans care, like anything, when the price gets too high you walk away, and the high bidder wins.

If someone wants it more than you, good luck to them.

I'm liking pick 27. I can imagine Butters interviewing prospective coaches about trading for him.

Butters: The old coach hated ruckmen, he got the sack. What is your stance on ruckmen?
Them: Love ruckmen.
Butters: You are now the newest best manager and leader of men I've ever seen.

No Chance In Hell Spider will be at Adelaide next year.

Neil Craig stated at the best and fairest and on 5AA " We will back our young guys, Maric and Meesen in next year"

I guarantee he WILL NOT be at Adelaide
