We are very slow starters. Against Man City we could have been 2-0 down if it wasn't for Robles/City's inability to finish and against Palace we got bailed out by the bar before we got going.

How good is it to see the mighty Toffees doing well. Koeman said in his presser that its taken the guys a while to learn his training ways as he trains them hard.It seems to be working.Barkley seems to have found his step again and just loving how we are getting the Wins.I know we have a long way to go but gee the future looks bright. Few more signings to make us stronger would be good.

Sounds strange as hell and it's probably just more of a player/human welfare type of deal, but Jose Baxter may return to Everton after his drug ban & play for the under 23's as 1 of the allowed 3 over age players.... Weird.

A strange one, some things are bigger and more important in life than football and a great thing for the club to do for someone who's spent such a big percentage of his life at our club but when you consider how cut throat football clubs are and have to be it's an interesting call.

We'll release players at seasons end who've worked their asses off, done nothing but good and they'll lose their spot to a man who's already had two chances and blown them both.

It's still nice to see the club wanting to help someone out so bad it's just sad that we cannot help them all so where do we then draw the line?

a good move by us to sign baxter.
a local lad who went off the rails a bit.
we are giving him the chance to get his act together, get fit and still have a career at another club.

So much deadwood cleared this month, just Kone to finish it off! Oviedo is quality, but the leg break was very bad & Baines has been a top left back for years.

Surely we will be busy tonight as our squad suddenly looks pretty thin

Thin is fine for the remainder of this season anyway, no cups or europe.

We'll probably get 1-2 more max and go in big next window.

I agree, but we 100% need another striker at the absolute minimum.
Another winger/attacker is all I think we need at the moment to finish strong, but while the dream is Yarmolenko the reality is probably Ashley Young lol...

Also, really hoping that the news is true that we might get Caio Emerson! 17yo Brazilian linked to Europe's top clubs for a while now

What a boring deadline day...

Kone to Palace must not be happening, a whole lot of youngsters loaned out. That's about it.

Pretty average window, Lookman seems like good value, Schneiderlin a quality player for 5+ years, but now without left back depth, no young CB's to put time into and thin up forward.

A fantastic window.

Clearing out the deadwood was key and we did a great job. Schneids is a top signing and Lookman looks very promising.

Not sure what people were expecting in the way of other signings, January isn't the window to do that. Better off giving the under 23 guys a chance for the remainder of the season and save our resources for the Summer window.

Not imperative to clean deadwood midyear, especially Oviedo who was the only depth for Baines we have.

The problem was we got little done at the start of the year. Which is why Koeman promised more coming into this window until nothing could get over the line.

Not freaking out as I'd love us to back the kids in to get more game time (especially Dowell) but just view it as bit of a wasted opportunity to end the season strongly, maybe steal a Europe spot, as I think it will be hard to make up any ground with such a thin squad.

Barry or even Funes Mori could play left back if we had to. Could maybe even recall Galloway if we had to, really not sure how he's not getting a go at WBA cos he is a talent

I don't recall him doing this tbh.

"When asked if the club would be bringing more players in this month, he said, “I hope so.

“We are working on that but only when we get players with the quality to make the team stronger. I’m not bringing players in just to get more numbers.

“That’s not what I like.

“It’s difficult in January because maybe you’re interested in players who can’t leave their club until the summer.”
