I didn't have Foxtel,, so this is the first season I've got coverage of all games. So if Tosun struggles against 2-3 defenders on his own, this was less of a problem generally for Lukaku? Who scored pretty much in every game I watched him on Foxtel.

Lukaku was much stronger & faster, he’s put on too much muscle & weight at Man Utd

Lost it selection, Siggy should have started before Walcott (who did absolutely nothing). We had no number 10, looked horrid in central midfield as Gomes & Gana were both deep. Had enough chances to score, just nowhere near clinical.

His selections and tactics reek of Martinez. He cant cobble together anything of fluidity. One half of the pitch is always disjointed. We go a back 5 against a side like Brighton where you only need 4 and a midfielder defending. Sure Gylfi needed a rest, but this is where Kieran Dowell is meant to be in. There was NOTHING in the middle for us. Add to that the players not wanting to be out there and putting the ball on the head of Richarlison against Dunk and Duffy and you're asking to be shit.

Excluding our game against City (we were always going to lose possession in that) this is our Possession and shot stats

v Burnley: 51-49 and 13 to 11 shots
v Spurs: 41-59 and 10 to 17
v Watford: 57-43 and 12 to 15
v Brighton: 55-45 and 13 to 11

The last game we bossed was against Newcastle. We should be bossing 3 of those teams and be closer to spurs if we want to be any good. honestly, I thought Silva maybe was the answer, but I'm starting to regret it now... massively.

Agree that the Dowell loan was interesting timing, but with the players we’ve got I’m not sure what options we have. We need to sign 3 attacking options, young with pace a bit of height wouldn’t hurt too (think Iwobi). A right wing, a striker and a
left wing for when Richie goes central.

Well for some reason we play a League One striker instead of a Champions League scoring striker.

I’d be playing Tosun as well, Silva clearly doesn’t like his lack of pressing but I don’t see how he can justifiably select Walcott with him offering next to nothing.

I don't get as wound up as some of you guys do even after a heavy loss. But in the matchday thread, I'm reminded Bostonian is a Brighton fan. So that sucks.

Another worrying thing for mine is the lack of junior talent coming through. We’ve performed exceptional well at both under 18 and 23 level but haven’t produced a talent in a while.
I thought I was in the Penrith Panthers thread for a second...

Don’t stand a chance of winning the FA cup, season over now really. No chance with the depth of the top CL clubs

I’m just not feeling involved in the team any more, they are just making me feel flat. 9pts from the last available 30

**** me the liverpool echo is a shit rag. Gave Pickford a 5 cause of the goal and Keane got a 6, despite it being Keane's error. Also gave DCL a 6 for having 13 touches and no shots on target. In fact as the main striker he took 1 shot and that was off target with a header.

DCL deserves nothing, that ball from Bernard was perfection. He isn’t a striker, he’s a false 9 and a poor one at that, we don’t even play through zone 14 so he’s essentially performing a nothing role.

There's been a shift of opinion within me. In an attempt to create a football analogy to use on a motor racing forum, I found out that Gylfi Sigurdsson is one of history's 50 most expensive footballers. I was shocked!

Usually it's hard to relate to Bradesmaen because he's full on with his criticisms. But in this case I can see the frustration is justified, and it's fair enough to expect more from Sigurdsson. In the level Everton have found themselves for 16 years, Sigurdsson should be proving himself and leaving Everton for 50mil, not coming to Everton for that much.

The thing is, everybody knew in advance that it was a massive overpay and that he wasn’t going to live up to the price tag. I don’t blame the player, I blame Koeman and Walsh who had tunnel vision when it came to signing players and just kept biddding more money until the selling club couldn’t refuse.

As do I, although I somewhat blame the player as I feel he's gone backwards a bit.
