That was my 2nd ever Simpsons episode.

Nope, didn't hallucinate any bacon sandwiches.

Seriously confused....what was it you had done? and where does it get done?...have never heard of it.

A floatation tank is a special, lightweight floatarium designed to remove the effect of gravity. NASA also used float tanks to help with the development and training of astronauts. No noise, no light and no feeling of weight. The tank is housed in your own private bathroom at the Fountain of Youth and you will enjoy total privacy.

Entry to the tank is through a light sliding door which you can close or leave partially or completely open.

Once inside the tank you rest upon an extremely dense solution of sterile warm water and salts – a velvety mixture just 10 inches deep, yet so tremendously buoyant, you have no choice but to float; you can’t sink.

During this process your muscles relax to a degree not possible under any other circumstances and a wonderful feeling of weightlessness and relief flows through your entire body.

Throughout this process, stress, tension and fatigue are rapidly released. The benefits include feeling calm and clear-headed, physically relaxed and refreshed.

In short, you are basically floating weightless in pitch blackness and absolute silence. Apparently one hour in the tank is equal to four hours sleep in terms of resting the brain.

I'm normally skeptical about "new age" sort of stuff like this which is why I delayed so long in trying it, but it was very cool.

Seriously cool! The feeling of weightlessness is awesome, and makes you relax like you've never relaxed before - very meditative. My back feels better than it has in ages.

Funny what your brain does when it isn't constantly bombarded by stimulus. Was having short periods of mild visual hallucinations within 20 minutes. The aurora borealis right in front of me.

Feeling seriously chilled out right now. Will be doing that again for sure!

I did this down in Daylesford many moons ago and have been meaning to do it again.

Can recommend acupuncture for back.

I've always wanted to experience sensory deprivation since I watched Altered States.

Figure its about time to move on from BF.

Been fortuidious to have met some great people and have had some fun but figured now I need to move away from keyboards and computer screens. Probabrly half the shit that I write here doesnt reflect who I am and I dont want that reflecting on me anymore.

Cheers to all their mods and fellow BigFootians. I wish you the best. Goodbye.

No more Today Tonight (WA/SA excepted).

It is a good thing that Frontline is just a little less relevant now.

The bad news is My Kitchen Rules now goes for 2 hours every night.

Hopefully it opens up some newsroom vacancies as the trash reporters find the transition to news difficult...

You should see me on the ABC thread!

Why do you hate Australia so much John? Would it hurt for the ABC to root for the home team*????!!!????

*The Abbott Government = Australia apparently.

I hate it when people get upset because major weather events don't occur. Cyclones that don't cause damage shouldn't be called a "fizzer" by media outlets (see the reporting on ex TC Fletcher). It is a good thing that we as a community escape relatively unscathed. The same thing with dangerous storms - people are sometimes almost affronted when a storm doesn't turn out to be as bad as the Bureau predicted.

After Hurricane Katrina, one of the southern US States decided that the best thing they could do was to change the public mindset about warnings and weather events from "false alarm" to "near miss". "False alarm" has the connotation that the warnings and recommendations for preparation weren't required. People get frustrated by false alarms. People become complacent after repeated false alarms, "Near miss" instead gives the impression that the community is lucky and that it reinforces the need to be forewarned and prepared.

I think I'm going to have another "Paddlepop" situation, seems like I'm in the minority that likes the new Sonic Boom character models.

Sure they really changed up Knuckles, but now he actually looks like he could bash down walls instead of a Sonic recolour. I love what they've done with Amy too, she looks like she could kick backside. And so what if Sonic has blue arms, big deal.

I reckon this could be the model I base my Sonic costume on for the next one-dayer at the Gabba.

Thank heavens.

Now we can talk about more important things, like carrots.
