Oh and just in case you didn't know the SMRT runs straight from Changi Airport at normal price too, just follow the signs after customs.

Did you spend much time at Singapore airport? I'm not sure if its worthwhile having a look around.

I mean it's cool for an airport but it's just an expensive mall tbh.
 
Having recently retired, am now dealing with Centrelink re age pension.........Grrrrrrrrrr!!!:mad:

Presented all relevant documents, bank details etc.....EVERYDAMNTHING, sat with a man for what seemed like forever being grilled, er interviewed, he was very nice, thankyou he says, no problems he says....now just wait. That was nearly 2 weeks ago.

Go to the letterbox today, oh joy, a letter from Centrelink.......we need to see said documentation AGAIN it says!

..so now have to go and basically start all over again getting bank statements (which they have) Superannuation statements (which they have)..etc, etc....

Oh, to win Lotto so I can, with a sweet smile on my face, tell them to shove their CentreLink where the sun don't shine!!

..sorry, but I needed to get that off my chest!

Grrrrrrrr!!

Good to see nothing has changed.I went through the same shemozzle 18 months ago!! Mind numbing incompetence at best. I liken it to being a reality version of Yes Minister!
 
We help clients with the apps and docs all the time without too much issue. But we do most of it by correspondence through the business centre so we don't tend to deal with those on the front line. I'd imagine dealing with some of the people that come through there can be a real drag and get you down a fair bit sometimes, especially with some of the abuse that gets thrown their way. The application is a prick of a thing if you're not used to it. Can just about do one in my sleep these days i've done that many.

We love Singapore and have headed back a few times but Tairy did a great job of summing it all up. Only thing I've really got to add is their zoo is pretty awesome if you like zoos, and there's some Singapore walking tours that are great to get a glimpse into the history of the city.
 
Daughter started high school this year. With laptops mandatory, something needs to change fast WRT textbooks. Her backpack weighed 10kg and we couldn't fit everything in!!!

Digital textbooks/course meterials are becoming more and more common these days. Doesn't help your daughter's spine in the meantime.

Sounds familiar. Pretty sure my shoulder-related issues are ascribable to high school.

Try having a bag with textbooks, sports uniform and then a laptop bag as well. This is the 90's as well, the laptops weighed a bloody tonne
