Could not agree more with anything ever posted on Big Footy, it's not even the personalities/characters involved, the whole idea of royalty and by extension privileged blood line rule is grossly archaic to me. The smarmy style of coverage of everything royal is cringe worthy in the extreme.

I watch very little free to air TV but when you do it is just saturation stuff.

End of rant.

Granted, it's over the top and at saturation level.........but I love a good romance.:)

...just a pity about the gutter trash half family. I see the police haven't found any evidence of the car crash the "loving" sister says she was in.......and isn't she just a doozy that one!

Poor old Queenie must've nearly had a stroke with all the carry on.

It facinates me...throughout history how parts of the blood line can be ignored or fine tuned to suit.

Anne was last of the Stewarts....After Anne's death the succession went to the nearest Protestant relative of the Stuart line. This was George of Hanover the begining of the present Windsors... By the Act of Succession of 1701, they just totally ignored any Catholic that had more claim.

William 1V he lived with his mistress, the actress Dorothy Jordan. They had 10 children their surname Fitzclarence... none got to inherit the throne...but were given the rank of a marquess's by William..The throne passed to Victoria .... Williams neice.

In happier news, at one point in history the Catholic church was really angsty about marrying your cousin. Or your cousin to the nth degree. This actually proved to be quite convenient. After all, if you were in an unhappy marriage - obviously you can't divorce, that's a sin. But if you happen to discover you both share a sixth cousin (actually or otherwise), well, you're living in sin and the Church wouldn't want that. So obviously the Church would be more than happy to grant an annulment in those circumstances.

If the Church hadn't loosened up its interpretation of what constituted incest a bit too soon for Henry & Cathy I'm sure they could have found an escape clause. Otoh, I'd be surprised if they made it too far down the Boleyn/Howard lines before finding a conflict.

Probably just glad she didn’t end up with syphilis considering her own stock?

What are the yellow stick men/women on the sides of the M1 between GC and Brissy for?

I knelt down and prayed to the house of my Gods, the Gabba, the other day;)...Sure is a magnificent sight.

Something I noticed (or didn't) when driving around Brisbane, the absolute lack of cars with Lions stickers. Did not see one, but did park right next to one on the GC.......I see more Lions stickers down here (I'm home now as of 2hrs ago) in Melbourne and that seems real weird and not right to me.

Miss you already Qld.:(

The stick men are an alert to be aware of upcoming roadworks in the area.

I have a Lions sticker on my car.:) You're right though, you don't see many around, and the few you do see are matched in numbers by Melbourne based clubs, I see a few Magpies, Hawks stickers.

I learnt something tonight... food cooks better when you heat it.

I'm not going to get into discussions about how long I stood there wondering why my onions weren't softening before realising that I should turn the hob on.

The Thai cave crisis is really triggering me on both a claustrophobic level and on a fatherhood level.

And now one of the rescuers has died from lack of oxygen after delivering oxygen to others. Getting really bad vibes about the outcome now.

Same here.......sadly, it's becoming a real race against time now.

The Thai cave rescue has started. Monsoon rains expected any moment. Just hope these boys have been drilled in how dangerous it is going to be and not have the information sugar coated in any way, they will panic if that's the case..

....it certainly is hold your breath stuff, am watching the ABC news channel right now, can't leave it. God, I hope they can get them all out safely.

I saw an article the other day about Elon Musk and the equiptment he has at his disposal. He has had quite a bit shipped to the caves, but there was a bit about a air-tunnel he has and how perhaps it could be used. It's a bit like a blow up castle only more solid on an industrial level, It was an interesting proposal we thought. Basically while deflated, take it through the tunnels, blow it up where the boys are, keeping the oxygen going in and they would then be crawling through dry.. apparently even if the tubing got snagged on a rock, the level of air going in would still be more than what would go out..

Hoping the authorities have at least considered this method......apparently they use these tunnel type tubes in tunneling through mountains etc.

Everything crossed and lots of best wishes for a safe rescue of these boys....god only knows what their families must be going through too, absolute torture for them.

Christ, now they're saying they might sedate the kids, WT....how can they do that while they are not wearing equipment and expected to breath as well while going under water?

...hope these guys know they are doing.

The rains have started now as well.....have to be concerned for the last group out. All that rain will be running into the cave system.. Taking about 5-6hrs to get in and the same to get out.....dear god, you have to wonder why they didn't start all this a day or so earlier.

Very nervous about the outcome here tbh..:(

Apparently the boys have had our medical team of doctors down there with them.

Sedation has a wide spectrum of meaning.

2-5mg of Valium would calm their nerves appreciably with no real cognitive or physical impairment.

Gotta trust the experts here. They have the world’s best on hand, from every relevant discipline. There’s no perfect solution. Just a whole bunch of risks to be mitigated.

As for starting earlier, they managed to reduce water levels significantly overnight. The preparations have also been exhaustive. This is the best window they have had.

I suppose your right......just there seems to be something different and horrifying every time they give an update. It's scary stuff every which way you look at it.

Yeah it’s a massive nightmare scenario. That’s why it’s so agonising to follow.

People will thank God and talk of miracles if they all come out alive, ignoring how much nature has been the enemy throughout the whole thing.

Will be nothing less than a human triumph if they pull this off.
