Yeah Dale Thomas looks tuuuurrrrble.

He doesn't even have the same gait anymore. He looks heavy and slow. Stupid haircut straight out of 1993, horrible footskills and just....shite.

It's kind of sad to see.
Warms the soul to see him fail miserably at that rabble of a club

Dawes played better footy at Melbourne than he did for us.
Nah. The commentators fapped over one bone jarring tackle and supposed leadership abilities. Oh yeah, he took a couple of lead up marks too. Average output and a desire to slam Collingwood for letting him go led to halfwits like M. Lloyd to overrate his contribution. Spud.

Wellingham had 2 seasons of stinking it up at West Coast. Played well last year before returning to his usual self in the GF.

Wellingham 4 GF's, 3 stinkers and one good game when we won by 50+.

Wellingham's first season for them was actually good, it was just injury that let him down.

And his grandfinal for them wasn't bad either.

Weiingham is a gun.In fact, I'd go as far as saying that if we had Wellingham, Shaw and a fit Reid in our defence, we'd be a genuine chance this year - assuming that we still got Adams and Grundy.

Except Wellingham would be injured (like he is at the moment) Shaw would have a brain fart that would cost us a final and Reid would tease you right up to quarter time of the GF. :(

Wellingham a gun? Pfft, only top 10 finish in WCE BnF was 2015 where he just squeezed into 9th, off the back of running around as the spare man in defence. Did he ever finish top 10 in ours? That term is too freely used these days, that it takes away from your real guns, think Pendles, Swan, Treloar etc.

mike123 , I think you need to watch the game a bit closer, from saying Goldstein didn't play the 2nd half last week (he played 40 of the 46 minutes), Wellingham was easily one of West Coasts worst in the GF. He had a good year for him though, finishing 9th in their BnF. He played 10 games in 2013 & 13 in 2014, and many games for Peel Thunder in these years.

Didn't realise he's 28 soon. Quite a few flashes of brilliance over his career, but rarely any consistency. Liked the social life too much.

Didn't say Goldstein didn't play in the second I said he barely played. I guess he was on the field for more than I thought because I hardly noticed Witts go up against him as opposed to their second ruckman.

I think you need to watch the GF again Wellingham would be no where near their worst.

Over the course of his career, he has been inconsistent and has definitely not been a gun. But his second half of last year was fantastic. It seems to me that the penny has dropped and I expect him to be a dominant running defender over the next few years.

Any discussion of possibly keeping Wellingham has to include us paying him for the 2 seasons he was absent. All the talk and the clip he got off Pert as he went out the door points to his rehab being constantly compromised by his 'social' life so not sure 2 injured seasons and 1 solid one is worth a million plus.

Shaw is one of the best finals players we have ever had. For all the talk about Thomas being our best player across the two GFs in 2010 (he was great by the way, not knocking him), it really was Shaw. He was good across all quarters of both games (unbelievable in a couple).

His third quarter in the draw kept us in it. Was phenomenal and repelled everything. He was a human brick wall.

He also had the smother of the century in the second game which completely wrecked their mindset before we ran away with it.

As would I, but you suggested that he would have a brain fart that would cost us a final. All the evidence suggests that his presence in our finals teams made us a much better side.
Ahhh yes when they are young they chase down Roo in the square, but as they get older and it gets a little harder they get frustrated and blow finals. He's the past, not the future.
