The Bullodgs aren't rubbish. We also played fairly average football at home against Richmond, almost handing them their first win. There might be nothing in my theory but I just get the impression that the players don't like playing at AAMI Stadium. I wouldn't either.

The Bulldogs are very average. Any team with a few bigger bodies will walk all over them. FFS Drew Petrie kicked 6 in the first half, 5 in the first 15 minutes.

Perhaps the execution of said gameplan might though? You are deluded if you seriously believe that availability of personnel does not effect performance.

It effects performance, not execution. You don't go ultra-defensive just because you lose players.

I'm yet to read a suggested 'change' on here that would have lead to a better result today. I've seen plenty that would have led to a worse result.

Mattner on Jones? Stevens doing bugger-all down back for so long? Bock getting a pounding up forward?

OK.

It doesnt matter what your game plan is when you have poor skills. Our disposal was woeful today and has been when we are put under pressure. Look at the way WC hit their players compared to us, we kicked to our guys feet or so high that they were easily spoiled or out marked or straight to the bloody opposition! Throw in our fumbling, dropped marks and its a wonder we got within four goals. And I cant believe we couldnt stop Kerr with no Judd and Cousins, that was the real worry. It didnt even look like we tried to.

Bigger bodies like Geelong? Or Hawthorn? Or Collingwood? Yep, they beat all three of those teams. And lost to West Coast by 15 points at Subiaco. Aren't they the top four teams? Very average my ass. A few injuries yes but are still well in the mix.

It's not fun to say it but never going to get as much 'excitement' from watching a Crows game as you are watching a Hawks, Bulldogs or Geelong game. But as a fan no game will have me more involved and riding every possession like a rollercoaster for the three hours. May not be the prettiest football but it's always an entertaining ride, good or bad.

Have you forgotten last season already? Up to Round 16 we had played some of the most brilliant, attacking, high scoring football seen, were heading for a AFL record-high percentage and had one opposition coach describe us as being in another stratosphere.

I'm pretty sure we had the same 'defensive-minded, risk-adverse' coach then. Look at the players who have been out this year - all goal-kicking, goal-creating players. There shouldn't be too much mystery as to why we are scoring less.

Honestly, that was absolutely ****ing magic to watch.

I would literally sit in awe watching us go about it in the middle of last year.

Craigy and the boys need to watch some videos of those games, and remember just how ****ing awesome we can be.

Great post ....sums it up nicely ......

We've been scratching to put sides on the park ...yet have remained competitive .....short memories..?
