Exciting Dilemma!

Congratulations LL, I am sure it is a very exciting time for you and your family.

Boys name? A tribute to the great man "Michael" Voss might be an idea:cool:

Or perhaps "Seven" or "Soda":D

Woohoo! Congrats LL!! I'm due in early July, and I'm over the whole bloody thing already! Mind you, not being my first, I've been there, done that, and wish it was like a frozen meal that you go: "Ok.l know I've got this thing, just let me know the due/expiry date and I'll pop it in the oven and burn me fingers on it a few hours later when it's time to pop it out and that's the extent of my injury/pain/feeling on it all."

I hope you aren't a morning sickness gal, nor a bloating gal, nor a 'I love you don't go/get the ____ away from me' moody gal with it all. If you are, never fear, it passes, about 15 years after they are born, or so I'm told!!!

As for boys names: Lucas, is a fave of mine, able to be shortened to Luke of course. Anything from the B & B is out of course (having read your penchant for that show), and kudos for you and your hubby for not wanting to be "out there" in this day and age!

Bring back the traditionals I say! (and that means with traditional spellings too!!)

Then she named her second (2 years ago) Mak. lol. Imagine when he joins his local footy team. Some good nick names there. :D

Mak is Malay for mother! Strange choice.

You need to be careful about the initials as well as weird things like spelling a name backwards. For example, Lana.

Congratulations!

In my experience girls names are easier to pick than boys. Boys names can make or break them! ha

If you have a long last name then it is good to have a short first name. We took over 24 hours to name our first one and 20 minutes to name our second one. Naming a child is a very special experience.

I'd agree with that. Had a lot harder time getting a good boys name. We ended up sticking with one we'd had for ages, even when we twigged that it was the name of a former footballer (not one of ours). We just liked that name and the player wasn't a wanchor! :D

For boys, you have to be really careful. I like names that can be shortened if desired. If you like Jake, then maybe Jacob might be worth considering.

Of course the only true way to choose it is a BigFooty poll.

thanks for all the tips and hints and suggestions. Some good ones in there and few that are way out there although introducing Voss as a first name mightn't be a bad thing!!

I'll keep you posted.

Congratulations LL. We had trouble picking boys names too, luckily we had a girl. One boys name we liked after our daughter was born is Riley.

And yes i did the whole Jonathan, Michael, Simon, Nigel thing with my wife, and NO was the answer. Good Luck:thumbsu:
