We should not select players who go into self preservation mode when the team runs out. The whole team notices when one of their own ducks his head or otherwise avoids contact especially early in the game. We have a few in our team that shouldn't be there and wouldn't get a look in anywhere else. Contracts shouldn't matter, just keep rotating players until we have a team full of goers who wont take a backwards step.

In all seriousness if you don’t start well in that scenario you will struggle to win especially a club in our position . I think Carlton had a similar situation but they started well . But after half time the Pies ran all over them.

• We have improved significantly from last year!
• Had we had the umpires on our side we win that!
• The margin was inflated in the end!
• Thats not a 54 point loss! Umpires helped significantly!
• We were really good for 75% of the game!
• We missed Will Phillips (LOL)
• THE AFL MAY AS WELL AWARD 4 POINTS AS SOON AS THE BALL IS BOUNCED WITH THAT UMPIRING!!!@#!

Losing the 1994 preliminary final by a post siren kick with more shots and 20 less frees was unfair and unlucky.

Getting beaten by Sydney and GC by 11 and 9 goals respectively was neither of those things.

We are in year 6, when is it too long year 10? year 20?. You're just willing to accept the crap. We went last season to 3 wins from the previous seasons tally of 3 wins with a worse percentage at a time we very obviously should've been improving.

Supporters have had enough. Supporters have every right to vent and be absolutely sick of the shit the club continues to serve up. Offering excuse after excuse game on game, year on year helps nothing. It's simply a comping mechanism for those failing to grasp reality.

We continue to have the worst defensive set-up in the AFL. We are paying a coaching group who can't even execute a zone on kick-ins.

Everyone loves the club. You are not unique. Others just aren't delusional and willing to accept the crap the club continues to serve up for an unprecedented period of time. It's not acceptable no matter how positive or glass half full you want to be.

2024 was unacceptable and 2025 is the time for clear progress and what supporters are seeing is the same crap losing to a second-string Sydney at home by 12 goals, getting smashed by Gold Coast by 9 goals...

So maybe you need to stop making excuses for everything and actually hold the club and people associated with it to account for once. Others are being proven right, not you.

i'm not willing to 'accept the crap. I've made many posts criticising decisions over the years.

The issue seems to be that I see clear improvement over our first 5 games to what we've dished up the last 3 years, and I think it's obvious, you clearly don't. Let's let the next month play out and see what happens.

It's a satirical thread but since you're conflating it with actual football analysis - there's nothing particularly constructive about bemoaning a resounding loss (time after time) as if you instead "missed it by that much".

Excuses to me are a sign that the NMFC has become a laughing stock and embarrassment to the game we have had more hand outs then any other club in the last few years bar the expansion clubs and still can’t get it right.
To quote Little Patti in song to the Labour Party in the 1970s It’s time and by that is for the AFL to step in and take over our club sort this crap out as currently we have not got the personal on or off the field to do it and don’t want to do it rather live by all is well attitude.
For Example the Cheer Squad of this club couldn’t even organise a banner for the game against the Suns WTF.
Maybe this week when our players run out to play maybe their should be playing the Benny Hill theme song instead of the NMFC song as the that’s the way this club is going.

The team that beat us in 4-0, they have rebuilt and gone past us. How is this possible?

Last year we beat Gold Coast, this year we lost by 52 points, please provide some insight into how this is improvement in your eyes? Or have they just gone past us, like Hawthorn and probably Richmond by the end of this year

The set up we have now is just starting its third season and even the first 18 months of that was wracked with instability and off field distractions. This time last year the TT and Hawthorn Racism stuff were still happening.

So effectively our current coach has had one pre season without some sort of bullshit happening to **** things up.

That's the world we live in. We haven't had six years of relative peace and calm like Collingwood or the Lions.

One clean proper pre-season and after that one pre-season we are significantly better offensively but our defense still sucks and that will take more time.

I know that after 6 ****en years having one season with clear air is completely ****ed but that's the cards we have to work with so either htfu and deal with it or do something else for 18 months and come back when the time it takes to work this shit out has passed.

They are your options...
