Not knowing what will happen in the transfer period what are your expectations for 2017?
I think we are good enough to play finals football it is my belief that guys like Moore, DeGoey, Maynard and Marsh will take big steps forward next season helping us bridge the gap with the top sides

more consistency in games and week to week, with less players used though the season, should hopefully
bring better results. hoping to see that

Finals or bust.

No more excuses - injury, composure/consistency, youth, skills, goal kicking, umpiring... How many years do we need to fix the same issues or bitch about things out of control (umps)?

Finish once again outside the eight.
Buckley to be sacked, Eddie sacked, Pert gone.
Media will blow it up as a club in crisis but it'll be the cleaning we need.

Best case:
Win enough games and make finals.

Finishing 5-6.
Treloar going for Brownlow
Bucks to get 2 yrs extension.
Mid season rumour of some high profile player touring our facilities.
The longterm F/S strategy by mixing the playing list with the womens and/or netball team producing some excellent results.

Not so much expectations, more like a wishlist:

1. I want to see an AA backman from our side - Reid was marvelous this year, hoping he can get in next year. Jeremy Howe a dark horse also.
2. Finals victory - finish anywhere between 5-8 (or higher ;)) and win a damn final. Will do the young boys wonders.
3. Daniel Wells best on ground performance against North Melbourne with Boomer kicking 5.
4. An interstate win against a team placed higher on the ladder - they are the best wins.
5. For once, please beat the Hawks:mad:
6. A six-man forward line of Moore, Elliott, Fasolo, Mayne, Sidebottom and White average 30 goals for the year, highlighted by Moore cracking the 40 barrier.
7. Two wins against the team Treloar rejected in favour of us
8. Brodie Grundy to establish himself as one of the best rucks in the comp.
9. Greenwood to improve his kicking and become an appreciated player on Bigfooty.

We will be playing in the Grand Final.

The list reeks to me of 2010 Magpies. Although everyone obviously loves to be pessimistic, i honestly dont think we are that far off. Absolutely ravaged by injury and still managed to knock off 3 of the top 5 comfortably, lost to another 2 in the top 8 by 3 points or less.

If any other club had the age profile we have and were that competetive with the quality sides the media would be frothing. Not to mention it appears North and Richmond will drop off, along with potentially Hawks and Port, all teams we lost to in 2016.

If we manage to get the solid players we are eyeing at the moment and add them without loosing anything, we will explode in 2017.

Let the crucifixion begin

Ed will never sack himself.
He sees himself as Collingwood.

Predctions: further steps taken by Moore, De Goey, Maynard.
Scharenberg announces himself as darn good player.
Treloar takes it up a notch, Adams further cements his credentials.
Grundy becomes bonafide star.
Fasolo and Elliot (who returns) terrorises backs all season. Jamie was seen to have his lips move ever so slightly in an upwards direction once during a game v hawthorn (after we pants them.)
Finish finals bound.
With that success, Bigfooty magpies population of posters is seen to have halved.....

When Bucks goes. He goes.
Bucks will be a great grandfather and Ed will still be around.
Ed is as entrenched as anyone ever in Collingwood.
Only Jock McHale would have the power to tap him to go.
And Jock has been dead since 1953.

Ed sees himself as Collingwood

Again, Bucks goes. He'll go.

He's done enough.

This thread needs an immediate injection of BBB, but sadly I think he is gone forever. He'd tell it like it is, crush our hopes, mock our confidence, threaten violence, and go...pfft

I'll happily stand in for him for now.

There are just too many questions marks right now to predict a finals finish.
Backline:
Are Brown and Frost leaving?
Is Williams leaving?
Can Marsh take the next step?
Will Sinclair, Ramsay and Langdon get on the park?
Can Howe produce another decent season?
Can Reid have another injury free season?
Can we improve our disposal out of defence?
Will we go back to the zone?
Mids:
How much will we miss Swan?
Can Adams stay on the park?
Will Witts leave?
What happens if Grundy gets injured?
Can the youngsters step up?
Can we improve our disposal into the forward 50?
Can we bring defensive pressure on a consistent basis?
Forwards:
What impact will Cloke leaving have?
Can Darcy shoulder the extra load?
Can Cox step up? Can we rely on White?
Can Elliott and Fasolo stay on the park?

To make the finals we need positive answers to at least 80% of these questions.

Tough business this football.
