I don't feel like we are 2 wins worse than Richmond and 20% worse than North and Melbourne but the ladder is what it is at this point. But I am realistic that we could be 0-10 and 50%.

I think poor form/injury to Yeo, Gov, TK and Oscar has been really significant.

Those four alone performing well would probably/definitely have made the difference against Essendon. And maybe also better results elsewhere - as well as hastening the development of our younger players.

IMO Yeo is the most important player to his team in the comp. It just doesn't matter that much because our team is so shit. He polled 8 Brownlow votes last year and we went 3-2 in those games. The two losses were against Brisbane and Freo where were competitive. When he is in the side and fit he changes the whole dynamic of the midfield. Harley Reid feeds off his energy and Tim Kelly gets to be the third banana which suits him. Just watching as a fan HR does not look to be enjoying his footy as much as he did last year.

On the flip side when he's not there we turn into Carlton without Cripps. And Walsh, Hewett, Cerra etc.

Last year we had a really good win then belted at AO by the Crows.

This year we play 3 beatable sides before that same Sunday arvo trip to AO v Crows.

My brain is saying it's a sign we can win 1 or more of the next 3 then get belted back to reality

Check the Suns. Did pretty much a full rebuild. Been dogshit for years, just missed the 8 last year, probably top four this year and in the window for a 4-5 year period. That's how quick it happens if your select the right players. It's starting to happen for Adelaide, too. And I think North are close.

We just need to recruit quality from the draft for the next 3 seasons.
