Well, I'm expecting to go back to being a Freo supporter. Last year was an aberration :p

But seriously, for mine the last couple of games have been lost on a lack of forward structure and run. This bombing it in bit just doesn't work - the forwards need to run hard to present leads to the players bringing the ball in. Yes, it's hard work and it sucks, but unrewarded running really is the key to the game, and it was notable for its absence in the North Melbourne game. Where's the work ethic of the last couple of seasons gone?

Oh, and hands. Freo have been horribly fumbly - it's at least one more win so far (North Melbourne) if the hand skills were just a little better.

What does that mean?

How can you "go back" to being a Freo supporter?

Presumably he/she means we are going "back to the good old days" of average/subpar seasons filled with generally disappointing results, losses in games we should win, with the occasional glimpse of brilliance. And that we are heading back to being "Freo" supporters, rather than supporters of a strong Premiership contender.

A bit of overkill hence the emoticon after :)

Fair enough, I thought that we had another Freagle.

We still have our principles, rules and processes to be proud of. Just like the good'ol days.
Our values shall prevail. Fills one with pride , doesn't it ?

actually, people who lose out are people who do want to get in to watch live games but can't get a ticket because they're all bought up. :(

please consider on-selling yours if you aren't going to the Geelong game... although the way we are going, it might be a bad idea to go and watch this game on my birthday weekend. :(

Might be an only child if he/she doesn't already understand that. I felt that explaining it was as unnecessary as it is obvious.

Nothing wrong with that Reg, I am a season ticket holder along with my family and living down here means I am restricted to what games we attend.

All this bullshit about ticketed members not turning up for games is laughable, The ******* club takes the dollars whether you attend or not.

The only people who miss out are the food and beverage companies. Yeah I really give a shit about them.

Yes it was.

I'm confused, are you pissed because I have a season ticket, or do you own the food and beverage companies operating at the ground ?

Spit it out
He's supposedly pissed that people who choose not to attend the game and have a seat that they don't onsell are keeping a supporter from attending because there are no tickets available. Essentially a BS stance because the only games you wouldn't be able to get a ticket to would be the ones that nobody misses. Probably just projecting the US situation, which is no doubt worse than ours.

That's what I originally thought, but then he highlighted some text re: the food companies.

I missed out on getting GF tickets last year, but you just suck it up. I could've bought the option but didn't, and I certainly don't hold any grudges to people who did or the one's that got lucky through the random lottery.

Everyone has the choice to purchase season tickets

I find it difficult to predict results for Freo at the moment because I can't get a handle on the form. Its not bad but its not good. There was a sort of lethargy going on in the game against North and also an underlying panic about the way they played. I said to my mate at the start of the last quarter - Freo are panicking here, if North realise and start taking advantage they will win this comfortably. They just don't look like the same team that played so well at the end of last year. There is definitely something going on with the psyche after the Grand Final.
All the systems and mechanisms are in place but the players are rattled. The forward entries are kind of symptomatic of that. I wouldn't be surprised if we won the next 3 but I wouldn't be surprised if we lost them all either. I literally have no idea how we are going to perform at the moment.

What if the players are disillusioned with the club's treatment of Colin Sylvia ?
It is quite possible the majority of players are pissed off that the club did not give themselves the best possible chance of winning against Hawthorn.
Of course it is now snowballing.
Just a thought.

mmmm, doesn't really float for me. I think its more non-specific, apres grand final, missing key players, confidence thing. Teams are like organisms, like in systems theory, one or 2 small things can ripple through. I mean take MJ, looked like a million bucks in the wins we had yet the other night he is dropping marks, shanking kicks. Its not a disaster. yet.

I was just being a devil's advocate .

I think it's a bit of a non-premiership hangover. All the hard work to get there, gave ourselves the opportunity finally - some players having stuck hard for over a decade to get there, and other players very aware of that - and now we have the mountain ahead again. With so many things needing to go right and so much more work required just to have a chance of trying for it. And a little bit of gnawing doubt that after everything, superior effort might not be enough to get it done.

I think he's highlighting you saying they are the only ones who miss out, whereas he thinks there are supporters missing out.

There were a few times when MJ ended up in a one on one with Daw right. in. front. of. me. and you could see he was quite panicky, which is unlike him.
