Expectations of Watts??

G'day guys, just curious as to what Dees supporters expectations of Watts will be this week. Are you guys looking at a goal target, say two or 3 or more maybe?? His Presence?? presentation and efforts??

Obviously he is seen as a sort of saviour of sorts, I think if you can fix your forward line you will be very competitive next year, and this guy seems to be the guy most likely.

Anyway, just curious...Cheers

I don't think it is fair to expect anything from Jack in his first game particularly when it is played on the Queens birthday weekend against the Pies in front of 70,000 (when he has only ever played in front of 2000) and he has an exam on the next day.

I am just glad he will be wearing the red and the blue and that he will get his first taste of AFL.

Surely for theatre Bailey starts him on the bench so we can cheer him onto the ground . I tell you what, it'll be bloody loud when he gets a touch or starts on the bench and comes on, let alone if he kicks a goal.

Lets hope he gets through the game fine, and gets a few touches. That's all we should be hoping for at this point. He is still a kid, and he still putting on the size required. It will be good to see him out there in the red n blue, and hopefully it's for 10+ years and he develops into a star for us. I just pray he doesnt get lined up by Maxwell or some other hack trying to make a name for themselves. That would be tragic.

It's good that he'll have blokes like Moloney, McLean, Sylvia and Miller around him if the Pies try roughing him up because I think physically they would run through any of those Pies.

But seriously...I don't think there's any real expectations on him in terms of kicking a certain amount of goals, etc...

I doubt he'll play the majority of the game. I think its basically going to be a learning experience.

The kid is naturally competitive, so i mean, whatever he does he does. I don't think Bailey's expecting him to kick 5 goals, get 25 touches and win the match for us.

Just as long as he plays his role, and gets exposed to the increased pace & intensity of AFL football, and learns from this, what more can you hope for?
