Red Bull had a dominant car for the first 6 races of the season. After that, McLaren have arguably had the fastest car, though results have swung between all 4 of the major teams.
Even if you exclude the first 6 races, Verstappen has still scored more points over the rest of the season than any other driver. He may not have won a lot of races in that time, but his consistency has been second to none - and consistency wins championships.

Gee, I really don't like AFL / AR that much. Hang on, they're introducing 6 / 6 / 6, I don't know what that means because I don't follow it, so don't know the rules, but I will follow the game now.
I'm not quite sure I've read anything more nonsensical.

As a kid and young adult I loved the variety of cars and classes of cars that all used to share the track at the same time during the great race.
Works teams, privateers, professional and non-professiinal drivers. I loved everything about it.
Now it's bland.

It would be hilarious if Leclerc gets past Norris. It isn't happening though short of a Norris DNF.
I will be cheering loudly for the Monegasque over the last 2 races. As a bonus, Ferrari might just pip McLaren for the Constructors Championship.

I don't mind Lando but he has shown himself to be a bit of a brat this year and Sky's antics were well over the top
I saw a TikTok of Dick J doing that lap where he ends up in the trees at Bathurst. Incredible to think he lived and that was considered the norm

Apparently the team will still be run by Andretti Global, but GM will be more involved and Michael Andretti basically won't be a part of it. Aim is that by 2028 it is a full factory team running their own engine
I mean that was an extreme of the norm but yeah it happened.
It was 86 where a bloke hit the bridge at the end of conrod, hence they put the chase in and arguably made it a better racetrack.

Looking forward to 4 extra cars on the grid.
24 cars/drivers always felt like the best number for F1.
Hopefully it'll make qualifying a bit more interesting. The added risk of congestion on track will force many to just stop playing games and get a time on the board.

GM/Cadillac will bring the F1 grid up to 11 teams & 22 cars. Where is the other team & 2 extra cars coming from?

oh yeah, brain fart on my part thinking Audi when they're just taking over Sauber
There's scope for another team under the terms of the Concorde Agreement, and they had 3 applications when they called for nominations 1-2 years ago. However, the other 2 bids weren't even close to being up to scratch. Only the Andretti bid, which has now morphed to GM/Cadillac was good enough to proceed.
Liberty Media have completely turned around the finances of F1, with all teams now being worth $1B+ rather than the money drains that they used to be.
I wouldn't be surprised to see other manufacturers looking to join, but they'd want to be well organised if they have any hope of succeeding.
Just putting this out there... maybe a Chinese manufacturer backed team (e.g. Geely) might be a future option, maybe in a few years time.

The window for manufacturers joining coincides with the introduction of new technical regulations, which resets the development curve for everyone, minimising the technological "catch-up" required by the newcomers.
The new technical regulations are due to take effect in 2026. It's no coincidence that this is when Audi's takeover of Sauber will be completed and GM/Cadillac will join F1. There obviously won't be any other new teams joining in 2026.
The big question is what happens when the next set of technical regulations are introduced, after 2026? We're probably talking around 2030/31. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a new manufacturer/team join at that time - but will it be another European manufacturer? American? Japanese? Chinese? My guess would be Chinese, but that's just a guess based on Chinese cars seemingly taking over the world with the other nations seemingly being years behind their EV manufacturing technology.

They will probably buy an existing license, similar to Audi. Alpine or (less likely) Haas would be my guess. Unlikely to bring a completely new team to the grid.

Counter to my previous statement, I don't think that's going to happen. Both Audi & Porsche are owned by the Volkswagen Group. I suspect the Porsche interest was superseded by the decision to back Audi's takeover of Sauber.
I can't see Volkswagen supporting 2 F1 teams. Red Bull do it - but I can't see Volkswagen having that level of obsession with F1.
